Dear Friends,

On Monday, March 25th at 6:30 pm Alexander Harris will offer a public talk at the Bellingham Unitarian Fellowship. Alex has a gift for bringing his own nuanced and complex knowledge of our local ecosystems into more accessible language that makes for a lively presentation and a rich opportunity to ask questions. Alex will speak on the subject of protecting mature biodiverse forests, as well as ways of shifting our current forestry practices. Increasingly awake to the the truth that all of the living world is kin, learning about our forest family has become an honoring of what sustains us on so many levels. Representatives from various Bellingham organizations collaborating in local environmental work, and particularly forest protection, will be present at this event with information tables. Poetry and aparticipatory art element will weave their way into our evening as well!
In the midst of so many global justice challenges, it's been a while since we have gathered to experience the joy of community support and agency. We truly hope to see you on the 25th! Please RSVP (see below) to REsources if you plan to attend! Here is a flyer detailing the event:

Last summer, in the time when yoga classes briefly were held in the Turtle Haven Sanctuary/Studio, rather than on Zoom, I mentioned the Upper Rutsatz forest just above Turtle Haven that is in peril, slated for timber sale in Spring of 2022. Some of you have walked this forest, and know that there is tremendous beauty in the diversity of trees and plants; this land is not a " tree plantation," and thus holds and nourishes a diversity of life that is significant to preserve....
