A great couple of weeks of qualifying rounds for the Club Championship, with semi-final rounds on Saturday and the Big Day today! It was a great weekend with great play, great food and good times!

Last Sunday BFCC Ladies had their annual Ladies Member Guest (LMG) Tournament, and it was a memorable one as the tournament organizers went “all out” to make it a special day. The weather was spectacular, the play competitive, the friendship and spirit heartwarming and as the Ladies always do, their generosity uplifting with their generous donation to Breast Cancer Awareness and to the Club. Also, we cannot forget how scrumptious the food was by Sweet Pea Catering, thank you Joanne and Joan!

The tournament can also boast about the hole-in-one that Marion Pickielnok, a guest, got on the 8th hole which was insured for $5,000.00. Of course, Marion treated the Ladies with their favorite beverages!!

Finally, a big shout out to all the sponsors and donors of gifts for the tournament. Many things contribute to the success of a tournament with sponsorships and donations playing a huge part. The BFCC Ladies send a sincere thank you to all the LMG sponsors, donors and to all the “helpers” who made the tournament a success!

Sunday, June 7th was a historic and landmark day in BFCC’s history with the dedication of the BFCC course as the Governor Thomas P. Salmon Course at the Bellows Falls Country Club.
Earlier this year, BFCC received the transformational gift of $250,000 from the Family of the late Governor Thomas P. Salmon. In grateful recognition of the Salmon’s incredible generosity, the BFCC Board of Trustees approved the naming of the course as the Governor Thomas P. Salmon Course at the Bellows Falls Country Club.
This remarkable gift’s lasting impact will position BFCC well into the Club’s future and sustain our journey and commitment to providing an outstanding recreational and social experience for our members, our guests and our community.
On June 7, the course was officially named the Governor Thomas P. Salmon Course at the Bellows Falls Country Club with the unveiling of naming signage and a dedication ceremony honoring the late Governor. An 18-hole tournament followed the dedication with Family members of Anne Salmon Darby, Jerry Darby, Tommy Salmon, Buster Salmon, Jodie Bisson and family friends having the honors of the first to tee off on the Governor Thomas P. Salmon Course.

BFCC has a history and legacy of over 103 years, and we are profoundly honored to name the course for Governor Salmon, a distinguished Vermont leader who dedicated his life’s work for the betterment of Vermont and Vermonters, whom he championed the value of an education for all Vermonters.

We are saddened to announce the passing of longtime BFCC Member, Don Thomas. Family was #1 in importance for Don and was the source of much joy. All you need to do is look at the picture below to see the pure joy in Don’s eyes and smile when playing golf with his sweetheart of over 60 years, Lorette and son’s Jeff and Don.

Don was a true gentleman in the game of golf and life, a quiet presence, a kind, good and giving person and a friend to all. Your gentle spirit, your comforting smiles that brighten a day and your goodness is a priceless treasure that will be missed at BFCC and by all.

A private family burial will be planned later. Donations may be made to American Precision Museum in Don’s memory.

JOIN THE LADIES’ LEAGUE AT THE BELLOWS FALLS COUNTRY CLUB!
BFCC is pleased to announce the 2026 season of our Thursday Evening Ladies’ Twilight League and invite you to explore all that our league has to offer! For women golfers of all skill levels and all ages looking to join a group of like-minded individuals for a fun, casually competitive and friendly 9-holes of golf.

BFCC Membership is not required for BFCC League play although members will receive preference in the event sign-up exceeds capacity.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of longtime member, Diane Albonizio. Although Diane has not played golf for several years due to her declining health, she certainly carried the spirit and the love of golf and the love of BFCC with her every day since the clubs got hung up. She was a familiar face at tournaments and on the course riding along with her beloved Nick, her soul mate of 57 years. Diane’s big smile and kindness brought joy to many, and she leaves behind treasured memories with many of the BFCC Family.

Calling hours for Diane will be Saturday, April 18th from 10AM to Noon at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield, VT. Nick and Family invite you to attend a Celebration of Diane’s Life at the Chester American Legion Club at 1PM in Chester, VT, following the calling hours.
