Mayor Joe has been nothing but helpful and accommodating through this little misstep/mistake?.. This initially was brought to my attention out of concern for mine and others business and the culture we are all hoping to foster in downtown.

I want to thank everyone their concern, support and comments on this matter as they were certainly instrumental in this "meeting" being called and this matter largely being resolved...

NOW- I urge you all to read up on the text as it has been changed. Concern for this proposed now "sidewalk" code is not completely eliminated. This past 18 hours of discourse has hopefully reminded us all that staying engaged with not only Belmonts city council but also your respective city council is extremely important to keeping our town OURS.

Thank you all for the concerns shared with me and my council counterparts. I had the opportunity to meet with our City Manager, police chief, chief-in-waiting, and code enforcement and it was determined that the language in this revision did not reflect the intent of the city, pd, or discussions in various council meetings. A further revision has been made and uploaded to the city website for review. This revision does not prevent bicycles on our downtown streets. Hey all- unfortunate to have to make this post but our City Of Belmont council is cooking up a poorly designed idea to combat the use of E-Motos on our Downtown Main Street.

While we fully support laws regarding E-Motos being enforced Downtown and beyond, we feel that this particular rule will dissuade emergent user groups important to the sport of cycling from using their bikes as a means of transport and recreation in a downtown area that should welcome them. This also broadly applies to those traveling thru downtown on an extremely popular cycling route. On any given day- especially the weekend, you will see bikes and riders out front of The Everyday Market and STATION and other great destinations- this rule as currently written and edited is asking that these bicycles be walked to those places- and not ridden.

The last thing I want to do with this post is attack or discredit the good intentions of the council and city officials and Belmont Police Department - we are hoping that this is simply a mistake in verbiage.

The intent of this post is to bring awareness to our cycling community and amazing townsfolk that this issue is being discussed at the Belmont City Council meeting on the 8th of September at 6pm.. We hope to bring productive and respectful discussion to this matter and work together with our leaders to find a common-sense solution to a "problem" which there are already laws for. The dismount zone is inclusive of main st from Sammy’s Pub of Belmont to Ballard’s Barbershop💈

A young fella by the name of "Gentle" Denver Lamb is literally the test case for any bike part ever made, if it cannot be broken he will find a way. We were happy to turn his broken Banshee frame into a brand new Banshee Legend in a 24hr rampage of collaboration and strategic ordering to get him racing yesterday at Ride Rock Creek .. we are a bikeshop run and owned by riders. That's who we support.
