NC Budo is a competitive martial arts center located in downtown Belmont, NC, with a satellite afterschool center in downtown Gastonia. Our affordable afterschool and camp programs are a popular choice for busy families. We also offer a variety of classes, ranging from mindfulness and yoga to competitive and classical Okinawan Kempo Karate. Our founders, Sensei Michael Baez and Sensei Jena Hare, are accomplished martial artists with a passion for helping students of all ages develop mental discipline, emotional stability and physical conditioning. We welcome students from 3 to older adults, with customized plans that can be tailored to each person’s development. A little Halloween spirit, a lot of candy, and some future board breakers! 🎃🥋🍬

We loved being part of Downtown Belmont’s BooFest yesterday! The kids decorated their own boards, got a taste of what it’s like to break one, stocked up on treats, and entered to win free martial arts experiences at NC Budo.

Thanks for coming out, Belmont! We love getting to be part of this community.

🥋 Junior Beginner: Wednesday 6:00-6:30pm
🥋 Adult Karate: Wednesday 5:30-6:00pm & Friday 6:00-6:30pm

Some of the best mat time happens together. ❤️🥋

Our Family Karate class gives NC Budo students the chance to share their training with the people who matter most.

And parents, you don’t need a membership of your own to join in! If your child is an NC Budo member, you can step onto the mat, learn alongside them, and make some memories together.

Less watching from the sidelines. More time learning, laughing, and growing together.

Because sometimes the best part of karate isn’t the technique. It’s who you get to share it with. ❤️

A weapon is only as controlled as the body behind it. 🥋

In Kobudo, strength isn’t just about how hard you can swing. It’s about stability, coordination, balance, and the ability to control every movement.

The exercises come first for a reason. They’re building the foundation these students need to handle their weapons with precision and control.
