Opening fishing 2023 was a success, from the great weather to the fish cooperating... Bring on summer....

Hunter and I took the boat out for a run yesterday afternoon, had a few minnows left from ice fishing so decided to throw in a couple rods, glad we did, the crappie were hungry. Lindy little nippers and live bait jigs and a minnow were the ticket.

Hunter and myself had a great trip to Fort Peck, Mt. Last week chasing lake trout with Mark and Danny Dickinson. 249,000 acres is a big puddle. Battled bitter cold temps, but managed to boat 30 in 3 days. All said, I'd leave in the morning if someone wanted to go with.

What a smile!! Charlie Becker, his dad, and myself enjoyed a few hours of catching walleye trolling Lindy Wally Demons.

The new era Little Joe spinner in Chartreuse and gold tipped with a leech trolled at .8 to 1.1 mph was the ticket last weekend as Hunter and I laid the smack on some quality walleye's.

The Lindy live bait jig in glow white color tipped with a shiner has been on fire this spring in the north country. You better stock up while you still can.

Here's a look at the four awesome new colors of Little Joe spinners, get em while they're hot folks, the walleye's love them! Tip with a shiner, leech, or crawler and hang on. I experimented with them all last summer and it was mostly catching instead of fishing, not gonna lie.

With ice out rapidly approaching it's time to start thinking about early season crappie.. A simple, yet very effective tactic is a Thill slip bobber over the top of a Lindy little nipper. Give it a try if you haven't, you may be rewarded with a livewell full like I was.

The Lindy live bait jig. If you haven't tried these fish catchers out, I highly recommend doing so. As you can see, a wide variety of your favorite colors to choose from. My go to jig, day in and day out.

Another question I have been getting frequently is this: In cold water when the glow sticks dims, what is the easiest way to recharge it? I have used 3 different techniques: 1. Heat does the trick, so when rebaiting hold it tight in the palm of your hand. 2. Blow on it, warm breath makes a huge difference or 3. Hold it next to whatever style of heater you have in your portable or permanent fish house for a few seconds, not getting so close that you melt the spoon. I prefer number 3, but to each is own, again any method that is warming the spoon will make the difference and the perfect time is when rebaiting.

I have spoken with many ice anglers this winter, folks, and am getting the same answer from all of them. The Lindy Glow Spoon is a fish catcher. The Gold Scale color in 1/8 or 1/4 oz tipped with a minnow head has been a go to color for walleye, especially in darker or stained water lakes.
