Before 12 Weeks to Fitness, Erica felt like she was floundering. With 3 kids, a busy medical practice & no real plan, she was struggling to make workouts a priority & meal planning just felt like one. more. thing. on her overflowing to-do list π΅βπ«

Before 12 weeks to Fitness, Brittany was frustrated π€ She was working out 6 days/ week, but not seeing any results.

Iβve always loved the start of a new school year π€π
A fresh start, a chance to showcase βthe new youβ ππ½ Research says these transitional times - a new year, starting a new job, moving to a new house/city - are PERFECT for laying down new, healthy habits!
For me, the start of school means more routine Monday- Friday, and hallelujaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah I love me some routines!!
Routines also make habits easier to implement ππ½ In the past, weβve used this time to solidify morning routines & various meal prep strategies. This year, weβre working on a bedtime routine!

It takes time to make a change - and even more time to see π it. KEEP GOING!! The key to any incredible physical transformation is always going to be time & consistent effort. ββββββββββββββββββLuckily, time is on your side - because it's going to pass anyway. So if you can get your mindset on board (that it's going to take as long as it takes), then all you have to worry about is the consistent effort part.
Take action & keep taking action. You'll get interrupted sometimes - by insane stretches of work, kids' activities taking over your world, illness/injury... sometimes all of the above all at once π« - but even if you've been interrupted for a looooong time, you can always start again!
Let it take as long as it takes - (and I'm sorry to tell you - it usually takes a lot longer than you want it to) - because if you can accept that hard truth & get on board with patience, it will set you free πͺπΌβ¨

This kickass CRNA had been avoiding carbs for YEARS - she had been led to believe that carbs were the reason for her weight gain (thanks society π), and like many people, was worried about reintroducing them into her diet... counting macros allowed her to remove the guesswork on what does and doesn't cause weight gain & *know* she's eating what her body needs ππ»ππ»ββββββββ

In time, she's been able to detach those strings of guilt formed in the past & move into food freedom π ββββββββ

Are you tired of being tired? We know that surviving on takeout, caffeine & crunchy snacks doesn't feel great, but who has the time to make elaborate, healthy & balanced meals that actually taste good?!ββββββββββββββββββ(Seriously, who? I want to hire them π)
This is a common problem for the busy ladies in healthcare I work with.
But here's the thing - healthy, balanced & tasty meals don't HAVE to be complicated! No master chef skills required (thank God).
LET IT BE EASY - Don't worry about organic this & free-range that; canned & frozen foods are just fine - aim for mostly whole foods that you enjoy & keep it simple!
Here's your challenge - Pick one or two of these simple recipes to try this week ππΌ

Crockpot (or rotisserie) chicken, minute rice, & veggies roasted/sautΓ©ed (or straight-up microwaved) with a little olive oil.

Spaghetti tossed with some broccoli & flavored chicken sausages.
β
A salad bowl mix of black beans, corn, lean taco meat & avocado, topped with your favorite spicy salsa!
These are some personal examples of my "Oh-sh*-quick-combos" that are tasty & balanced & ready in 15 minutes or less! β°

It's you against YOU, baby πͺπΌββββββββββββββββββThe pursuit of fitness is unique in that you get out of it what you put into it. There are no shortcuts, no quick fixes, and you can't pay someone to do the work for you.
The truth is - it's painful getting up early & pushing your muscles to the limit! But it's pain that leads to something BETTER - you adapt & you get stronger.
Choose that pain. Choose it day after day after day after day.
Because it sure beats the pain that never-ending comfort brings - the pain of regret, of knowing you're capable of more, of being out of breath, out of shape, and uncomfortable in your own skin.
You deserve better than that. Go get it πͺπΌπ

Stay strong out there, ladies! The world feels like a chaotic place right now, with ever-increasing obligations, opportunities & demands for our attention - sometimes it feels like I'm never doing enough. And I know I'm not alone here!
But here's the truth - You & I - we're doing our best, right?!

Itβs beenβ¦. interesting starting another business on top of everything else - a humbling reminder that when youβre pouring yourself into something important, other things will have to give.
In this case, Iβve been slacking on my social media π

Happy love day, friends!
Brett & I arenβt really big on Valentineβs Dayβ¦ we never get each other anything π
I guess Brett typically prepares us an amazing meal, which is absolutely a gift for me (Iβm hoping for chocolate covered strawberries tonight π€π½π€€)β¦ so more like *Iβm* not really big on Valentineβs Day π
Itβs more about the little things for us - setting up our coffee the night before, a quick butt grab on a stroll through the kitchen, spur-of-the-moment date nights or dog walks, and staying up late to plan our dream lives!
Of course, dark chocolate & a glass of wine is never a bad idea either πππ½
