In this afternoon’s do or die game in The Gopher State Tournament vs. Fargo, the 14U AAA season ended, 0-4.
Shanahan and Nikkel had the lone hits for The Heat.
Heaton Brodina threw 6.0 innings with 3H, 3 BB, 0 ER, and 2K.

Positivity. Grit. Teamwork.
The morning started slow-down 3-8 in the bottom of the 5th, the boys started to show some life, with huge RBIs from Geerdes and Zellmann. Then, in the bottom of the 6th, Shanahan started the inning with a single and Jones hit a huge double to score Shanny. That’s when things went south for Prior Lake. Zellmann had a literal walk off, sealing the game on a 4 pitch walk, scoring Webb. 9-8. 👊🏼
The real ice in the veins came from Mason Webb who took the mound in the 2nd inning when the score was 1-6. Coming fresh off a scary injury last weekend, he kept the game within reach, digging deep when we needed it most. 💪🏼💪🏼
⚾️Kudos to Coach Brodina for keeping a level head in the dugout and maintaining positivity while still expecting the most out of the boys. The lessons learned from that go way beyond baseball.

First game win ✅, 3-2 vs. Two River Warriors (Mendota Heights).
💪🏼Jack Zellmann had the lone hit for the Heat. Runs were scored by a sacrifice bunt by Brody Roscoe and some savvy base running by Heaton Brodina and Jack Nikkel.
⛽️Brendan Jones threw a gem, allowing 4 hits, 1 ER, 1 BB, and 3K. Jack Nikkel came in to earn the win, with 1 hit and 5K in 2 IP.

The Heat finished up their last double header of the season last night, in preparation for the Gopher State Tournament this weekend. They did so in dominant fashion, beating Grand Forks 19-9 and 16-2.
💪🏼in the 2 games, Heaton Brodina and Jack Zellmann had 6 RBIs and 3 runs scored each. Jack Nikkel scored 7 times with 3 RBIs and Brennen Brower crossed the plate 6 times with 3 RBIs. Brody Roscoe had 4 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
⛽️Most of the pitchers got at least 1 inning of throwing in.
First state game is Friday at 4:15 vs. The Two River Warriors.

These boys got the job done today, taking the championship vs. The Regina Athletics, 15-2. They overcame heat and injury-great job fellas!

The Heat took care of business this afternoon, beating Williston 19-0 in 3 innings.
They stole 15 bases, with Jack Nikkel and Brennen Brower taking 4 each🏃🏻♂️
Wes Truax led the team with 3 RBIs, and a 2-run home run in the 3rd!!💪🏼 Brodina, Roscoe, and Sgarlata followed with 2 RBIs each🔥

In the second game of the night in Bismarck, the Heat dominated the Regina Athletics, 11-2.
💪🏼Brody Roscoe went 2 for 2 (1 RBI, 3R) with 2 doubles and Owen Geerdes was 2 for 3 (RBI, R).
⛽️Jack Nikkel was on the bump for 3.0 innings and gave up only 1 hit, 0R, 0 BB.

The boys had a healthy 6-0 into the top of the 5th, and ended up squeaking out the win vs. Regina Wolfpack in Bismarck tonight, 6-5.
Brennen Brower and Chase Sgarlata led the team with 2 hits and 2 RBIs each, followed by Brodina, Roscoe, Geerdes, Webb, Truax, and Shanahan each with one RBI.

Happy Independance Day!
The Heat swept Moorhead last night in a double dip, 6-3 and 10-4.
