Sunday Recap: Moorhead Sweep Doubleheader Over Bucks
The Bemidji Bucks showed plenty of fight throughout Sunday’s doubleheader but came up just short in both games, falling 7-5 to the Moorhead Brewers in Game 1 before dropping Game 2 against the Mudcats, 9-6.
In the opener, the Bucks erased most of a seven-run deficit after exploding for four runs in the sixth inning and another in the seventh. Despite the late rally, Bemidji couldn’t complete the comeback. Ethan Biehn drove in two runs, while Dan Clusiau, Ben Corradi, and Biehn each recorded a hit. The Bucks also showed patience at the plate by drawing seven walks.
Game 2 the Mudcats started much differently, as Bemidji stormed out to a 6-1 lead through the first two innings. Ty Lundeen led the charge with a two-run single in the first before crushing a three-run homer in the second, finishing the game with four RBIs. Cam Justice added three hits and an RBI, but the Mudcats answered with eight unanswered runs, highlighted by a game-tying grand slam in the fourth inning before taking the lead for good in the fifth.
