Getting my “mojo” back has been a battle. I wear a lot of hats—dad, husband, son, grandson, handyman, heavy-stuff mover, animal wrangler—it’s easy for my “Maker” hat to get buried under the rest. For a long time I thought I just needed better compartmentalization. Better discipline. Better structure and plans. Forcing my creativity into whatever tiny window of time I had, whether my mind was ready or not.
Lately, I’m realizing it’s not about separating roles, it’s about the daily rhythm. Finding a balance that lets all my hats hang together as a whole, messy but functional wardrobe. The more I learn to relax, the easier things become.
Yesterday I stitched the final seams on the first pack I’ve made in a couple years. It’s not perfect or groundbreaking, and therefore are some adjustments to the design I want to make before I run a batch, but it knocked the rust off and reminded me what it feels like to bring something from my head to my hands. Feels good man.

In appreciation of our top performing Employee of the month, we have decided to give him the week off to go camping. Please note that he will be unavailable for communications during this time as he will be fishing, hiking, and playing in the desert. Thank you for your support and understanding. Pea Soup. ✌🏻

You ever have something you’re REALLY excited about, and like to leave it out somewhere that you walk past regularly so you can pick it up and fo**le it every time you go by? Because same.
I just received this little fella from and it immediately became my favorite knife in my collection. Corey hand makes his knives, and his work is absolutely phenomenal. His eye for proportions and curves is beautifully attuned and this knife is no exception.
Full tang, 1/8” thick spine, canvas mycarta handle, 8” overall length, 3.5” blade. I’ll comment the steel used below, don’t recall off the top of my head.
Expect to see this little guy in a lot of my content, because I am absolutely in love with it. Be sure to follow too, Corey is an awesome human and putting out some real quality work.
