✨Experience local history at the Hollinshead-Matson Homestead Museum! ✨

➡️ 2026 open house dates: June 13, July 11, August 8, September 12, October 10, December 12.

The Hollinshead-Matson Homestead Museum, located in Hollinshead Park, offers visitors a look back to life in Central Oregon in the 1940’s.

The museum is open on the second Saturday of each month from May to October, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A special holiday event is held in December. No reservations are needed.

Museum events are hosted by Sharron Rosengarth and Bend Park and Recreation District, with support from volunteers and Deschutes County Historical Museum.

Get on the bus! Try Transit Week is June 1 - 5 🚌

🚍 Our friends at Cascades East Transit (CET) invite the community to hop on board for Try Transit Week, June 1–5. This weeklong celebration highlights the riders who keep Central Oregon moving while encouraging everyone to experience the ease and benefits of public transportation.

🤩 Throughout the week, CET will host community events, rider appreciation activities, and giveaways across the region. Riders can enter raffle drawings, connect with CET staff, learn about the CET Go account system, and take advantage of special transit pass promotions. It’s a great opportunity to explore transit, save money and support a more connected, sustainable community.

If you’re planning a visit to Juniper Swim & Fitness Center in June, please note that spring maintenance is coming up, with improvements scheduled for both indoor and outdoor areas.

• June 4 - 5: Juniper's North Parking Lot off Hawthorne Ave will be closed for maintenance and repainting. Walkways and the North Lobby will be available. Use the South Parking Lot or street parking.
• June 5 - 14: Annual maintenance is occurring in the natatorium. Inside the facility, the Indoor 25-Meter Pool, Children's Pool, spa features, and north locker rooms will be closed. Work includes painting, tile work, duct cleaning, deep cleaning, repairs and replacement of the dry sauna heater and a water fountain.

🌟 Calling all young artists! 🌟 Join us for With A Child: Fun With Fused Glass - Woodland Creatures! 🦊🍂

Spend a delightful morning creating a themed fused glass piece with your little one. Experiment with vibrant shapes and colors to craft something unique. All supplies are included, and your projects will be kiln-fired and ready for pickup.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice, as well as for the veterans and first responders who continue to serve our community every day.

We invite you to spend a moment of reflection at the Bend Heroes Memorial Plaza at Brooks Park. This meaningful space pays tribute to local heroes, with engraved bricks recognizing the individuals who have served. Set along the banks of Mirror Pond, it offers a beautiful place to remember and reflect.

➡️ In observance of the holiday, the BPRD District Office, Park Services, The Pavilion, and Larkspur Community Center are closed. Juniper Swim & Fitness Center will be open from 12:00–4:30 p.m.
