It’s June 1st! Oregon Outback 230 registration is now officially open on Join us for the race that dreams are made of! 266 spots still remaining. $1,445 until September 1st.

The Oregon Outback 230 is a point-to-point adventure through the immensely vast and beautiful wildscapes deep within Central Oregon. This is a land as lovely as it is lonely; where the ancient volcanic arc of the Eastern Cascades gives way to the sage-scented solitude of the Basin & Range.

There are few places left in the world that offer the sense of solitude that the Oregon Outback provides. You will be woven into the tapestry of birth, life, death, and renewal in a way that cannot be described, only felt. The Oregon Outback is also the largest designated International Dark Sky Sanctuary in the world!

The course primarily uses the Fremont & Crane Mountain National Recreation Trails. They traverse along extensive, dramatic fault-block rims that characterize the Basin & Range geology. Winter Rim, Abert Rim, and the Warner Mountains rise precipitously above large pluvial lakes and desert playas thousands of feet beneath you.

The Dates:
Registration Opening: June 1, 2026
The Race: July 16-21, 2027

The Numbers:
Mileage: 230.83 miles
Gain: 30,810 feet
Loss: 31,016 feet
Lowest Elevation: 4,704 feet
Highest Elevation: 8,348 feet
Total course cutoff: 120 hours (5 days)

We are also excited to be holding our pre-race festivities at Summer Lake Hot Springs, a true gem of the Oregon Outback!

A significant percentage of the proceeds from this race will go to the Oregon Timber Trail Alliance in support of their efforts to connect trails, communities, and opportunities in this beautiful part of the world.

We look forward to seeing you next summer for this transformational journey through one of the last great wild landscapes on Earth!

The Oregon Outback 230 Miler takes place on lands significant to the Modoc, Klamath and Yahooskin Band of Northern Paiute Tribes.

I am an adaptive runner with ALS who puts in a Boston qualifier scale effort every single day just to get out and finish a run. I really just needed to point out how hurtful this campaign from is.

I have no issue whatsoever with races that have qualifying standards; with elite running competitions, or any other manner of event that highlights the limits of human endurance. I find it both awe-inspiring and just plain inspiring.

But there are so many ways they could have chosen to express that without dragging those of us who could never line up at the through this kind of mockery. That in the year 2026, this ever made it into the public space is frankly disgusting. That’s all.

We are delighted to announce that we are able to add 50 spots at the start line of the Dark Divide 100 Mile Endurance Run, the west’s wildest one hundred!!!

Come race in the remote, rugged, and life-changing heart of the Central Washington Cascades September 4-6. The Dark Divide Roadless Area is a vast wildscape of serrated alpine ridges, freely tumbling waterfalls, towering ancient forests, and vast volcanic skylines.

We would love to see a much more diverse start line too! Please check out what our partners at & offer to support those who have faced barriers to participation at this and many other races.

Please note: the total number of spots available for new registrants will depend upon how many waitlist runners accept their invitation to the 2026 Dark Divide 100 Mile Endurance Run.

The Dark Divide Trail Races take place upon lands of the Cowlitz (Mishalpam, Táytnapam, Sλpúlmx), Xwáłxwaypam (Klikitat), and Yakama people 🙏🏼
