It was New Bike Day for me this weekend! I got the new Scott Addict Premium. I’ve been riding my S&S coupled Moots for 18 years (!) and figured it was time (especially considering know a bike shop). I still love my Moots, and will lovingly pack it in its tiny travel case so it is ready for my next riding adventure in Europe….but for here in Bend, I’ll be on the Scott. I still love riding road bikes, and with my local trailhead closed for another year, I’m riding road 95% of the time. The new Addict is SUPER smooth! It’s got an HMX carbon frame, fancy carbon wheels, wide tires, Di2, disc brakes, and a bunch of other fancy doodads. It weighs a hair over 16lbs (xxl), and feels fast to me. Looking forward to getting a lot of miles on it this year.

Road is making a bit of a comeback.....and the Scott Fastlane is one of the reasons why. The Fastlane is Scott's newest e-bike, boasting smooth lines and a svelte silhouette, and the joy it brings to conquer climbs like a pro is unparalleled. It shares geometry with its acoustic sibling, the new Addict road bike. The lightweight, aero design is intended to save on watts – battery watts – and to help maintain a cruising speed of up to 28mph. It uses the super quiet TQ HPR40 drive unit and has a hides a 290Wh battery hidden in it's sleek design. It doesn't even look like an e-bike. Oh yeah, and it weighs about 23 pounds. Not a typo. 23 (for the Fastlane 10). Come on in and check one out! Kevin got one of these for his wife and she loves it!

We’ve got some new neighbors at the shop….a couple of Ravens have built this monstrosity at the church. They are super interesting to watch….and the nest is amazingly solid. We have to wait for the eggs to hatch before we can remove it….so it’ll be here a little while. I’d love to set up a camera and stream what is going on….but I don’t really have the time for that. But we do need to come up with some names for mom and dad….so if you have some ideas, let us know!

It was 1 year ago today that we experienced our little fire at the shop. small fire, lots of smoke and water damage. But we are back at 100% (or close enough to it). It was a rough year….and a rough winter, or lack thereof, didn’t help…but we are happy to be back and look forward to a much better year! We hope to see you soon!
