Horseback Riding with Sarah

A fun week of riding new horses, riding ba****ck, getting consistent good trots, and finally having diagonals make sense! Great job everyone!
I know i said morning lessons start the week of the 22nd but if any students want to ride next week in the morning just let me know and we can probably do it!

A fun week of getting students on new horses. Didn't get any good videos of Lacey but Sassy was an absolute champ for these girls.They all started out super nervous but all were in love with her by the end of the lesson.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

So I got our show results back and I'll be be posting pictures once I can get everyone's ribbons and awards to them. I hope everyone took something away from the experience and knows what they need to work on.
Becoming a better rider is a gradual process and never a straight line. Skills like cantering and jumping are built on top a solid foundation of walking and trotting. I try to keep it interesting by doing patterns, riding outside the ring, having "dance party" lessons, etc, because we need to work on these basics in every lesson to become strong, balanced, confident riders. Whether we are happy with our show results or disappointed we realize we need to work hard and not give up in order to achieve the results we want.
