🗣️ NEW Teacher Alert! We are so excited to introduce our new Ballet teacher Miss Katie! ✨

Katie Bateman is a dancer, educator, and choreographer whose work is rooted in the spirit of modern dance and founded within collaboration and community. Based in the NYC/NJ area, Katie has most recently performed with Daniel Gwirtzman Dance Company and Grant Jacoby & Dancers. Katie is a graduate of Rutgers University, where they obtained their Ed.M in dance education with a Certification of Eligibility with Advanced Standing in K-12 Dance (CEAS) in 2025 and their BFA in dance in 2024, where they were recognized as a Hanya Holm Award recipient. As an educator, Katie teaches a wide range of ages and styles and currently teaches as a Teaching Artist for The School of Nimbus Dance at their Jersey City Campus and off-site at elementary and middle schools around Hudson County, at Triangle Dance Center, and is a Guest Artist at Middlesex College.

Katie is so excited to be joining our community at Pure Movement Dance Center! 🩵

🗣️ NEW Teacher Alert! We are so excited to introduce our new Ballet teacher Miss Amelia ✨

Amelia Nickles grew up studying at both the San Francisco Ballet School and the Pacific Northwest Ballet School as a young dancer. In her high school years, Amelia attended The University of North Carolina School of the Arts to pursue a career as a professional ballerina! She then went on to receive her B.A. in Performance from Fordham University in 2000 and her M.F.A. in acting from the American Repertory Theater at Harvard University in 2004. As a performer, Amelia has been seen on Broadway, regional theaters, and in film!

Amelia is so excited to join our community and share her passion for performing with new students 💙
