How did our restoration project at Battle Creek hold up after this winter’s rain ☔️ and high flows 💧?
When the rain comes things can shift around, but we were thrilled to find that our fish passage project in Eagle Canyon held up great! 🐟 The project was completed last year and this winter’s high flows proved the sustainability of the design. By reconfiguring boulders, the project alleviated a fish passage barrier created by a rock fall. 🪨
At Big Chico Creek, we will be using the same design team and concept to improve fish passage for salmonids and other native fish at Iron Canyon. We are stoked to put this successful model into action again! ✅

With the new year approaching, it's a great time to take the pledge to become a Keep Fish Wet Advocate!
Becoming an advocate is a free program where the only expectation is that you read our Principals and Tips and agree to do your best in adopting them.
Research shows that when anglers make small changes in how they catch, handle, and release a fish it can have positive outcomes once that fish swims away. Committing to learning best catch and release practices is one of the best things an individual can do to protect our recreational fisheries.
Are you ready to become an advocate?!
