Hey GRCF,
The 2020 CrossFit Open starts next week! We will be hosting the workouts on Friday this year, starting at 6:30pm, in lieu of the evening Barbell WOD. We will also be replacing the 11am Advanced WOD on Saturday with Open Gym time, so that anyone who can't make it on Friday evening has an additional opportunity to do the workout (or can make up the Barbell WOD if needed).
To sign up, go to games.crossfit.com to register and choose "Grassroots CrossFit" as your affiliate! Remember, there is a scaled division as well, so all levels are welcome!
September Evening On-Ramp begins Monday, Sept. 9th and runs for two weeks on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays at 7pm. Registration is open now!
Gymnastics Fundamentals Seminar with Patrick Barnes: Sunday, August 18, 12-3pm
This will be an opportunity to understand the fundamentals of position and power development in your gymnastics skills. The class will bounce back and forth between floor work and bar work with a heavy focus on inversion and kipping bar skills. This class is appropriate for all levels. $30 Sign up sheet will be posted at the gym tomorrow.

Hey GRCF,
Just a reminder that tomorrow, we will be hosting the Memorial WOD for Katrina Lundstedt's brother, Eric. The 10am class will be reserved for the 5:30am crew, but the 11am will be open for all. Although it will be a long, grinding WOD, it's accessible and can be scaled appropriately to anyone who'd like to participate.
The workout was designed by CrossFit Wilmette in Chicago and is based on Eric's love for the Patriots. Each number stands for a letter based on the alphabet (P=16, A=1, etc.) and the 5 rounds signify Patriots victories. All the movements are ones that Eric loved, such as back squats and snatches.
As a reminder, some have mentioned they need to bring their children to the workout. This is fine, as long as they stay off the main floor to keep themselves and others safe.
We hope to see you there and help honor Eric's memory.

A 1 Bar Muscle-up
T 20 Deadlifts (95/65)
R 18 Double-unders
I 9 Snatches (95/65)
O 15 Pull-ups
T 20 Squats (95/65)

It's that time of year when a lot of you go away for the holidays, so here is a quick review of how membership holds work. If you are leaving for 1 week or longer, we can place a hold on your membership. You must let us know in advance (we are no longer doing retroactive holds), and we need a start and end date in writing (email [email protected] or [email protected]). The total length time of holds for a given membership may not exceed the length of that membership. For example, you cannot hold a 3 month membership for more than 3 months total. Hopefully this answers any questions, but feel free to ask if you need more details. Hope you all have a wonderful holiday season!
