Hey Bears, welcome to Cal! šŸ»šŸ™Œ Wondering how to live with a bike in the Berkeley dorms?

Whether it’s behind our beds, hung overhead, or locked in cages instead, we make it work! Just keep in mind that the official storage spots are the key-access residence hall bike cages.

To get a key for the bike cages, first fill out the online bike registration form with UCPD, then stop by the UCPD in person to grab your official registration sticker label and pick up your cage key!

DM us if you have any questions about bringing your bike to campus!

Last weekend Cal Cycling hosted our home road race with . The roadies put in a huge amount of work setting up for the both the road race and the crit. Berkeley Hills had a history of being one of the biggest road races in the state and we’re proud to host it.

The bears got to roll out of bed and ride to the start line from home. Crushing it on a course they seem to ride every day, Aaron won the Cat 4 race and Leo got 5th in the Cat 3 omnium! For some of our riders it was their first road race. Freshman Wilson decided to crawl out of the dungeons of bicycal and give racing bikes a shot! Here’s what he had to say ā€œFor a first road race and first crit, this was definitely one of my favorite experiences in Cal Cycling. Didn’t place as well as I expected but 10/10 would do it again next year!!ā€

Thank you all for coming out and supporting the next generation of cyclists!

Last weekend, Cal Cycling joined other teams from the WCCC for a memorial ride in honor of Colin Kang. We met up in Santa Cruz and rode his favorite trails as one big group. It was a great time getting to know everyone’s connection to Colin and see what a pillar of the community he was. We are so happy to have gotten to ride with such a wonderful person and gotten to come together as a community to honor him. Thank you to and for hosting us and helping us put on this wonderful event

Today we’d like to highlight freshman Aaron Leopold for the insanse run he’s been on! From podiuming at Davis, riding with pros at huffmaster and tackling gravel nationals all on his own! Here’s what he had to say for his first year on the team ā€œThe season kicked off with a great race alongside Cal Cycling at the UC Davis Flatlands. The pace was fast, positioning was key, and it all came down to a final field sprint where I finished 2nd in the collegiate category.
My first gravel race of the season was Huffmaster — a super competitive event featuring riders like Brennan Wertz and Lachlan Morton. It was an awesome day on the bike with perfect weather and great roads. The race split up after a 10-minute climb about halfway through, and from there, we rolled to the finish in small groups. I ended up 18th in the pro men’s category.
Next, I headed out to Turkey, Texas, for the inaugural Collegiate Gravel National Championships. The race started hard, but unfortunately, I had a mechanical within the first mile and had to stop for a few minutes to fix it. I spent most of the day riding solo, picking off riders one by one, and finished 31st. Despite the setback, I was happy with my effort and had a great experience overall. I’m really looking forward to the rest of the season with Cal Cycling.ā€
