Our beloved teacher: Sundernath is an initiate of the Kanpatha Hatha Yogins of Nepal, descendants of Sri Gorakhnath and his Guru Sri Matsyendranath. These great Yogins were the forefathers of Tantrik Hatha Yoga, the heart of which is Hatha Yoga – the science bestowed upon humanity by Adinatha (Lord Shiva).

How do you create the inner and outer conditions to support your sadhana?
✨
THE YOGIC LANDING PAD: For true transformation, yogic sadhana requires the right conditions. Just as a plant will thrive when given the right soil, nutrients, water, and climate, our sadhana will also thrive when it develops within a supportive context. This can be likened to a “Landing Pad” - an inner and outer space within the whole of our life, free of sabotaging habits and conditions, where our yoga practice can land, take roots, grow and evolve.
✨
Join us this Sat, Oct 26 for a special online workshop for ALL levels of practitioners. Mark will shed light on ten of the most essential considerations everyoe must deal with if they truly want more than just a mediocre yoga practice and mundane quality of life. These will all be examined from gross to refined levels.

For yogic sadhana to bear fruit and provide a means to positive transformation in all realms of life, a solid basis must be established which can truly support a deeper unfolding. In Shadow Yoga, the tools utilized to fulfill this first stage of sadhana include the three prelude forms, primary asana vinyasas, bandha triyam (the 3 bandhas), and the concluding activities within full practice format.
✨
We’re offering new Fall courses to guide students towards greater skill and proficiency with these preliminary tools, leading to a better understanding of how to utilize and integrate them within practice. Look for PROGRESS THROUGH THE PRELUDES: Mastering the preliminary tools of Shadow Yoga. Begins Sept 21.

For experienced practitioners, the various forms of the Nrtta sadhana, asana-angaharas, kriyas and mudras, are essential tools of an advancing yogic sadhana. None stand alone, and all must be mastered and skillfully integrated in order to make applicable the gross structure, free and awaken the inner body, and activate the energetic pathways, all while cultivating a proper mindset. This will support the process of absorption - the basis for pranayama and meditation.
✨
During Fall 2024, we’re offering a two-part course for experienced students that will progressively refine and integrate these important tools, with emphasis on building a direct, embodied understanding of their effects and inter-relationships. Begins Sept 21

Asana Angaharas (arrangements) help establish the necessary conditions for the most essential asanas to become accessible with sthiram sukham (firmness and ease). The Mantra Sadhana gives the inner shape and changes the resonance of the entire being.
✨
In 2024 we will introduce the Mantra Sadhana slowly within the context of the Asana Angahara full practice format. New course begins Jan 13

New course starts Jan 13 to complete and refine the Balakrama prelude form while introducing the “full practice format” which includes asana/vinyasa (sequence of seated asanas) and conclusion. Students will gain an experiential understanding of the larger scope of the Shadow Yoga sadhana, and the role of the preludes.

The Asana Angaharas utilize elements from the Shadow Yoga preludes and the Nrtta forms to progressively build stability and ease in asana and the concluding practices of the yogic sadhana.
As one’s practice matures, the synergy of practice is enhanced through understanding the components and their interrelationships while developing the skillful means required for their integration.
Join us for a new Asana Angahara I course starting Oct 28. We’ll introduce new material that reflects the evolution of this practice.
