Lots of great updates on the work we've been doing over the last few weeks!

Our greens are completely healed from aeration and we are back to a normal mowing schedule.

We overseeded the thin areas on the greens during aeration and they are filling in nicely. Preparing for the colder months, we are continuing to spike and seed any remaining thin areas.

The 7th and 13th greens are scheduled to be sodded on in late September. These holes will be closed for those 2 days but will reopen when finished. Stay tuned for an update in the next week.

We completed seeding the 11th and the 15th fairways last week. We are already seeing bentgrass seedlings starting to pop! To allow for a healthy growing period and long-term quality playing surfaces, these fairways will remain closed throughout the fall and winter.

The work continues!

This morning, we placed sod around the green at Hole 11! The fairway work is coming along, as well.

Our grounds crew has been hard at work aerifying the fairways and greens this week. We’ve also prepared holes 11 and 15 for seeding. This is just the beginning of a series of exciting upgrades!

Exciting progress at the course! We are closed today (8/24) and tomorrow (8/25) to aerify the greens.

Want faster clubhead speed? Try this 30-second fix right on the tee box:

1. Grab a club, hold it horizontally out in front of you for balance.
2. Sink into a shallow quarter-squat (your golf athletic posture).
3. Hold for 15 seconds, actively squeezing your glutes at the bottom.
4. Do 5 fast, explosive bodyweight jumps or dynamic hip-hinges.

These moves fire up your posterior chain so you can actually drive through the ball and transfer power from the ground up, rather than dragging the club with your arms.

Gary Player created a course that is very enjoyable to play. The golf course is sometimes called a “tale of two nines” with its open front nine and tighter back side that winds through the timber. The course is fair for the beginner, but it is certainly no walk in the park for the scratch player. The greens are medium-sized and not especially difficult; the fairways are generous from the tee and modestly bunkered. There are a few lakes to avoid and some marshy areas, which are common when you're only seven miles from the ocean.

Let's face it... there is no shortage of Ocean City golf courses… however I can assure you that you will be hard pressed to find a better track than what you'll play here. If you like smooth fast Bent Grass greens… you're going to love playing here!
