Hall of Famer Johnny Thompson (PCW, 1999) was told in junior high that his snake move wouldn't work in high school. It did.

He was told in high school that there is no way it would work in college. It did.

All he did was win 2 National Championships as an individual and earn All-American all four seasons. He also helped OSU win 2 Team National Championships as a wrestler and then 2 more as a coach.

He perfected a move that most wrestling experts will tell you should only work in youth wrestling which speaks to how amazing he was as an athlete and wrestler.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Mrs. Jennifer Owens Hill, a cherished member of the Patriot Family for 27 years.

Mrs. Hill was a beloved teacher, a devoted friend, and creative spirit who touched the lives of students and staff here at Putnam City West High School. She loved spirit days, storytelling, YAG, and the PCW Yearbook. We will miss her deeply. Her influence will continue to be felt through the students she encouraged, the staff she worked alongside, and the traditions and programs she helped strengthen.

We ask that you keep Jennifer’s family, friends, students, and colleagues in your thoughts. 🩵

Emily Hamil and Chloe Medlock both won Freestyle State titles 🏆 on Saturday which qualified them to represent Oklahoma on the 16U National Dual team this summer 🤠!! Coach Turner was also selected as a 16U Women’s National Dual Team Coach! Tegan O’Conner was 4th place at state making it a clean 3/3 state placers for the Putnam City West Women’s Wrestling team!! Way to go ladies!

Congrats to our graduating seniors on their college signing!! Carissa Martin is headed to Ottawa University, Kobe Gaffney signed with Colby College, and Carli Antonelli will be staying local at Rose State College!
