If you are a runner and not spending time on your strength training you are missing a big component. Maybe you need some direction and/or accountability? I can help!
I am looking for a small group of runners (up to 6) to work on strength training. Running specific training can help ⬆️ performance and ⬇️ chance of injury. I am looking to start this group on Thursdays starting in September and lasting for 8 weeks or so.

This group is absolutely awesome. This is my Tuesday morning bootcamp and, if we are being honest, it is actually just a running camp. Today they finished their 16-week session with a timed mile and they did amazing. A bunch of PR’s and goal times beaten. It was awesome to witness their effort. Meeting and beating goals is not just for the young! They showed up, worked hard, took it serious, and were rewarded with a great outcome. Bravo!

Today I am 55. I have no clue how this happened, I don’t feel 55 (although I’m not sure what 55 is supposed to feel like). But what I do feel is grateful. So very grateful. I ran with a group of amazing ladies this morning, had a great class afterwards, and have a track meet later today. All things I love. I have a fun/healthy/loving family and very good friends. So if this is what 55 feels like, I’ll take it!!

Workouts don’t need to stop with injuries/issues, they just need to be modified. knows, just keep going!

PSA! Sunday I ran the 10 mile race in DC and as you might imagine my legs were a bit tired and sore afterwards. BUT, so were my obliques! Why? Because there is rotation in running! If you are a runner and your core work only includes static holds like planks, you are missing out on a huge component. There is rotation in running and you must train that movement by doing strength exercises with rotation! That is my PSA for today. And yes I know this is a terrible race photo.

While on their (very active) spring break still got her workouts in! Nicole used one of my videos to get her workout in on a day she wasn’t skiing or hiking. Super impressive to take the time to stay on track even when doing so many other strenuous activities. Commitment and consistency, that will get you where you want to be! Way to go Nicole!!

A big shout out to Erin for reaching a major goal this weekend! I started working with Erin in December and her goal was to break 26 minutes in the 5k, a goal she had been chasing for the past 2 years. After setting up a training plan and adding some key components to her strength training, she accomplished that goal this weekend at the cherry blossom 5k by running a 25:53. This same race last year she ran a 27:09. That is a big improvement and I can only see her getting faster from here. Great job, Erin!

We have another shout out this week, this time to . Nora’s progress has been amazing to watch; from starting with 3lb weights to now often using 20lb+ weights for many exercises!
Nora began taking classes in 2019 and continued to train virtually thru the pandemic. Once we were back to in person class she started coming 3 days a week and her strength just sky rocketed 🚀. Nora is so dedicated and such a hard worker, she has improved her strength so much because she challenges herself and is very focused during class. It’s been inspiring to watch and I’m often in awe of what she is doing.
We all have choices to either do it or don’t, Nora does it and is a ⭐️ in my book!!!

This is a huge shout out to ! Nancy has been crushing it over the last 6 months, she does both my strength classes each week, the CorePlus+ class, AND the bootcamp! She is amazingly fit and strong and did I mention, she is 56 years old! She’s the queen 🫅and we should all strive to take our fitness to this level. Age should NOT be your limiting factor. Make the time, put in the work. Be like Nancy!

Our quarterly meeting of the minds (which is actually more like yearly). I am lucky to be connected to two of the best trainers in the DMV and beyond. Great lunch with Pedro and Jim . Thankful for their knowledge and willingness to share ideas.
