September is NICU Awareness Month, and we’re taking a moment for this Throwback Thursday to look back on something truly special.

The inaugural Tiny Fighters Cup brought the hockey community together for an unforgettable weekend — and together, we raised $18,967.10 for families in the St. Luke's University Health Network NICU.

We’re proud to officially announce that the Tiny Fighters Cup returns April 23–25, 2027 at Steel Ice Center.

Last year’s event featured:

🏒 4 divisions
🏒 191 players
🏒 10 states represented
🏒 40+ hockey organizations represented
🏒 39 hours of hockey
🏒 623 goals scored
🏒 18 Pucks for Preemies delivered to the NICU

This event is about more than hockey — it’s about community, compassion, and showing up for the tiniest fighters and their families.

Pre-registration opens October 15 — Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day.

🏒 WELCOME GREG CAREY TO FACTORY HOCKEY & STEEL ICE CENTER! 🏒

We’re excited to officially welcome former Lehigh Valley Phantom Greg Carey to the private lesson coaching roster at Steel Ice Center!

Greg brings an elite playing background and a proven focus on developing offensive players, with training centered around shooting, puck handling, scoring, and high-repetition skill development.

Greg grew up in Canada where he played his minor and junior hockey, including a 3 year stint in the OJHL and an appearance for Team Canada East in the World Junior A Challenge. He attended St. Lawrence University for four seasons, and was being nominated as an All-American and Hobey Baker finalist in back to back seasons. His 8 year pro career took him from Portland to Italy, with 4 years for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. His clinics specialize in shooting, puck handling, and offensive skills using a range of high pace, high rep drills with an emphasis on technique.

🏒 PRIVATE LESSON OPENINGS WITH COACH JOHN MUSELLA SR.

A couple of recent cancellations have opened up new private lesson availability with Coach John Musella Sr. at Steel Ice Center.

Coach Musella is the Hockey Director at Steel Ice Center, an Assistant Coach with Lehigh University Men’s Ice Hockey (ACHA D1) and the PA Huntsmen (EHL), as well as a regional scout for the Charlotte Rush (USPHL).

With decades of coaching experience, Coach Musella has helped develop players throughout the Lehigh Valley and has helped numerous athletes advance to the junior and college levels.

🏗️ A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS THIS FRIDAY.

For more than two decades, Steel Ice Center has been a home for hockey players, figure skaters, coaches, families, leagues, clubs, and friends throughout the Lehigh Valley.

This Friday, we celebrate what comes next.

Join us Friday, August 14 at 4:00 PM as we officially break ground on the newest expansion to Steel Ice Center, including the addition of our third ice rink.

This is more than another sheet of ice. It means more opportunities for kids to discover skating, more room for athletes to train and compete, more opportunities for programs to grow, and another place for our community to come together.

🏆 Congratulations to the Spartans C – 2026 Factory Adult Spring/Summer C1 Division Champions!

The Spartans C capped off an outstanding season by defeating Guns N Hoses 4–2 to claim the Factory Adult Spring/Summer League C1 Division Championship.

From opening night through the championship game, the Spartans consistently played with determination, depth, and teamwork, earning a well-deserved league title. Congratulations to every player on a fantastic season and a championship run to remember.

A special congratulations as well to Guns N Hoses on an excellent season and a hard-fought championship game. They battled until the final horn and proved to be worthy finalists.

🏆 Congratulations to the Fresh Sticks – 2026 Factory Adult Spring/Summer B Division Champions!

The Fresh Sticks captured the B Division Championship with a hard-fought 4–3 victory over the Muggers in an outstanding championship game.

The Fresh Sticks have long been one of the Lehigh Valley’s premier adult hockey teams, proudly representing our area in tournaments throughout the United States and Canada. Their success on and off the road is a testament to their commitment, sportsmanship, and passion for the game.

A big congratulations is also in order for the Muggers, who made an impressive run to the championship game in their very first Factory Adult League season. Under the leadership of Captain Jack Piper, they established themselves as a team to watch and gave the Fresh Sticks everything they could handle in the final.

Congratulations to both teams on a tremendous season, and once again, congratulations to the Fresh Sticks, your 2026 Factory Adult Spring/Summer B Division Champions! 🏒🏆

🏆 Congratulations to the Bobcats on winning the Factory Adult Spring/Summer League C2 Division Championship!

After a season of hard work, consistency, and team play, the Bobcats earned the C2 title and finished the season on top.

Thank you to every player, captain, official, scorekeeper, and fan who helped make this another outstanding Factory Adult League season. We appreciate everyone who competed the right way and made the league a great experience all spring and summer.
