President-elect Joe Biden's relief plan includes a readjustment of the federal minimum wage to $15/hour as well as unemployment insurance and renters assistance program extensions.

Biden announced his $1.9 trillion relief plan Thursday, aimed at helping Americans struggling through the economic downfall of the coronavirus.

"President-elect Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan is ambitious, but achievable, and will rescue the American economy and start beating the virus," Biden's transition officials said.

"Congress should act expeditiously to help working families, communities, and small businesses persevere through the pandemic," they continued.

The relief package also includes a $400 billion national vaccination and testing program to assist the vulnerable members of society, Biden's aides said. Additionally, the package would provide $1,400 in direct payment relief to Americans.
