This is going to be a book but I promise it’s worth the read!
Yesterday was a really special day.
For those of you who have been following Nan’s journey, you know that two years ago she was in a really dark place.
She suffered the loss of her dear cousin and her son within a few months of each other.
She was depressed, angry, and had all but given up on herself.
She had stopped socializing, stopped leaving the house, and pretty much stopped moving altogether.
Then something clicked. She realized she could keep on the path she was on, and probably end up passing away sooner rather than later, or she could take back control of her life and make it worth living.
The second option is the one she chose.
She started working with me, strength training and working on her mobility.
Slowly but surely things started coming back to her.
She could manage walking around the house.
Then she started doing some chores on her own.
Then she started walking her dog again.
Soon, her friends began to notice her memory and cognition were improving.
She wasn’t just surviving, she was thriving!
