Good morning,
As many of you saw, the MHSA has chose to split the girls competition at state from all class to splitting AA and leaving class A, B, C together. Although women’s wrestling is the fastest growing sport in the nation, I and many other coaches do not believe we are at the point of splitting. Personally, I hope we never split; an All Class State Champion is a pretty big deal. I feel that this is just going to water down the AA division.
In March, all the AA coaches met, and all girl coaches in the state had a Zoom call - the great majority of us voted to not split classes. The MHSA received this information and still chose to split the girls.
If you feel the same, we may have a window to change this? There is a two week window that the MHSA will reconsider. If you agree, please write an email expressing your concerns to Toby Hill , Skyview athletic coordinator, Mark Sulser , Billings public school, athletic director, Brian Michelotti - Head of MHSA & Scott Wilson - Wrestling MHSA
