Eliana is a Swim Lesson Instructor in our Aquatics program, currently holding the record for the most private swim lesson clients at one time, and graduates this weekend with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She’s been part of Campus Recreation since her first semester at Binghamton, knowing she wanted to continue teaching children how to swim while also making new connections through work.
“I’ve developed stronger time management and leadership skills, learned the importance of safety and emergency preparedness, and gained confidence working with others,” Eliana says about her time in Campus Recreation. “Most importantly, I’ve learned that work can be fun when you’re surrounded by great people. Some of my absolute best friends have come from Campus Recreation, and they truly feel like family to me.”
Her advice for getting involved? Campus Recreation is such a fun and welcoming community with so many opportunities to get involved. It’s a great way to meet people, build valuable skills, stay involved on campus, and make memories that last long after college.
Congratulations to Eliana and the Class of 2026! 🎉🎓

Roslyn is a Biology Pre-Health major and serves as President of Women’s Club Lacrosse, is involved in the Pre-Dental Association, and is a member of the Student Staff Development Committee for Campus Recreation.
She is in her third year working for Campus Recreation and her second year as a Building Manager. She noticed the welcoming and energetic environment created by the front desk staff and felt Campus Recreation would be a good fit. She also felt it helped her maintain a strong balance between work and school while preparing for her future.
“In my time working for Campus Recreation, I’ve grown both professionally and personally,” Roslyn says. “I’ve learned how to be an efficient and reliable leader, navigate difficult situations, and strengthen my communication skills.”
Her advice for getting involved? Campus Rec is really about community and trying new things, not just competition. Her involvement in Club Lacrosse has been one of the most rewarding experiences in her time at Binghamton!
Congratulations to Roslyn and the Class of 2026! 🎉🎓

Karola is a wellness assistant and desk assistant at the East Gym, graduating this May with a Bachelor of Science in Global Public Health on the Future Healthcare Provider track. She will be going abroad this fall for medical school.
She has been with Campus Recreation since 2024, starting as a wellness assistant and later also joining the front desk team. She applied because she “always enjoyed the environment and community when I walked into the East Gym as a first-year student and knew I wanted to be a part of it.”
“From both the front desk and wellness services I learned responsibility and professionalism, but most importantly I learned how valuable a kind and loving work environment is. I look forward to every shift, knowing I will be working with like-minded and hard-working students who I can count on. Getting involved with Campus Rec was the best decision I’ve made during my time at Binghamton!”
Her advice for students thinking about getting involved? Treasure every moment because you never know when you’re going to meet some lifelong friends.
Congratulations to Karola and the Class of 2026! 🎉🎓

Jason is a sports supervisor, volunteer firefighter with the Vestal Fire Department, and employee at Lockheed Martin Owego, all while completing Binghamton’s 4+1 Systems Science and Industrial Engineering program.
Jason got his start with Campus Recreation as an intramural participant. After developing an interest in officiating, he joined the program as a referee and spent the next three years in a leadership role as a sports supervisor.
“I’ve learned a lot about leadership, communication, and adaptability,” Jason says. “Starting as a referee taught me how to make quick, confident decisions and manage competitive situations in a fair and professional way. I’ve also learned how important it is to create a positive environment for participants and referees, since our sport programs are about both competition and community.”
His advice for students thinking about getting involved? Step outside your comfort zone! Some of the best opportunities and experiences can come from taking that first step.
Congratulations to Jason and the Class of 2026! 🎉🎓
