Closing out our Formula introductions with someone who lives and breathes racing — both on and off the team — our Race Engineer, Vansh Joishar 🏎️⚡! When he’s not helping lead Formula, Vansh is also racing outside of the team, bringing real motorsports experience and passion straight into the shop and onto the track. Starting as a Low Voltage Member, Vansh has grown into a leader whose impact reaches far beyond the electrical system. From long nights in the shop to preparing the car for competition, Vansh embodies the passion and dedication that drive this team forward.

“Joining Formula was one of the most important decisions I made at Binghamton. It gave me a place to turn my interest in motorsports into real engineering experience, from working on low-voltage systems to learning how much teamwork goes into building a car. Believe it or not, I can weld now (a bit shabby, but it’ll hold up for now lol). Being part of this team pushed me to grow far beyond what I could learn in a classroom, and I’m grateful for the people, the late nights, and the moments that made it all worth it.”

Meet our Tractive Lead, Eric Lin ⚡🏎️ — a key force behind the performance and power of our Formula car! Eric has been part of the Tractive team since 2022, growing from a member into this year’s Tractive Lead. His experience, dedication, and leadership have played a major role in driving the team forward.

“I joined Formula SAE as an apprentice during my freshman year and it was one of the best choices I’ve made for my professional development. Throughout my time on the team I learned so much from peers and shop technicians and I will always be grateful to have been given this opportunity four years ago. Meeting so many outstanding people has inspired me to keep pushing myself to do better and it would not be short to say that I would not be in the position I am today without the support of everyone I’ve met on this team!”

Meet our Baja Electronics Lead, Ryan Pavone ⚡🔧 — the one keeping our systems powered and performing when it matters most! Ryan joined as an Electronics Member in his freshman year and quickly stepped up to Electronics Lead in his sophomore year. His growth, dedication, and passion for hands-on engineering have made a huge impact on the team.

“When I first joined Baja I had no idea the impact it would have on me. I have learned so much about real world engineering and made a lot of impactful friendships. Competing in Maryland was by far the highlight of my experience and I am very excited for Rochester coming up.”

Green Grand Prix champs 🏆💚🏁

Rose 2 showed up and showed out at autocross, bringing home 1st place at Green Grand Prix. Erick laid down the fastest lap time of the day with a 25.2, Kevin followed with an impressive 25.7, and the team came away with the win. Erick also took 1st in the street car division in his own car. Proud to compete alongside Clarkson and Cornell and even prouder to bring home the top spot.

Meet our Baja Suspension Lead, Ryan Hample 🔧🏁 — a driving force behind the performance and durability of our car. Ryan joined the team as a Suspension Member in his freshman year and quickly stepped up to lead the subteam as a sophomore. From the shop floor to the competition track, his dedication and passion for motorsports have made a huge impact on the team.

“I never could have predicted the influence Baja would have on my life at college. I joined as a freshman, and right away in my first month after moving away from home I went to Michigan with the team for competition. It was an awesome experience to see all the other cars, the track and events, and the community, then come back to school and continue the learning and teamwork for the next design. That trip threw me right into full swing of what Baja is about, allowed me to get more involved in the team and make some friends. Baja immediately became the most influential part of my experience at Binghamton. There is no better way to follow an interest in motorsports—doing exactly what I chose engineering to do and growing more than I ever could in a classroom.”

Meet the two key leads of our Suspension team — Michael Fanning and Gabe Blodgett! 🔧🏎️

Michael leaves behind a strong legacy of growth, knowledge, and impact. His time in Motorsports has shaped him into a stronger engineer, and his contributions will continue to be felt long after this season. 👏

“I am extremely sad to be leaving this year, I have learned so much through this club. I have truly become a better engineer from it.” — Michael Fanning

Gabe joined Formula to strengthen his engineering skills and gain real-world design experience, but quickly found something even more valuable — a team of driven, talented engineers pushing each other to be better. His pride in the suspension team’s work this year shows in every detail of the build. 💪

“Joining Formula SAE has been one of the most rewarding parts of my time at Binghamton. I initially joined to build my engineering skills and gain real-world design experience, but it’s become much more than that. I’ve gotten the opportunity to meet and work with some of the most talented and innovative engineers Binghamton has to offer. I am super proud of the work that the suspension sub-team has put in this year.” — Gabe Blodgett
