So after thinking long and hard about what I was able to produce on the James river I cannot say that I would have changed anything. During practice fish were found and during the tournament I was catching fish. The rule is never leave fish to find fish. Both of my spots were producing and just couldn't seem to adjust to get the bigger bites. I knew after practice I wasn't around the winning fish but i could at least produce a limit to get some points and maybe a check. Although i got a limit each day the bigger fish were just not cooperating. And that's ok. Now on to the next one in NY. Time to study:)

Tomorrow starts my practice for my first ever Bassmaster Open as a boater. Ready set go! While i dont have the same hours in as some of the competitors its a blessing to be able to just be in on the action. I want to thank my sponsors to help me get this far... Ardent, Kissel Krafts, and the best wife a husband can ask for Sara Salisbury. With their help i am here. A special thank you to Chris Sperling for the words of encouragement! I may not win the tournament but feel like i have already won just to be here. Going to have fun with this life experience and while being an underdog they better bring it cause not going down without a fight;)

So things have been a little quiet on the page due to the Covid-19 pandemic and focusing my efforts on family and personal safety. However, I am excited to announce that I will be competing in the 2021 Bassmaster Opens as a pro angler. Hopefully we can put into practice all that i have learned over the years to put some big bags together. I am very excited to put my skills to the test and while tournament fishing can be very granular when it comes to weather patterns, bait selection, area selection, and the list goes on...we are just going to keep things simple, work hard, and try to bring home a good finish.

So my tournament season hasn’t started off as i had hoped but finally picking up some steam! Won 1st place in my club tournament a few weeks back, had another decent finish, and this chunk along with many more in practice. Hopefully we can keep the momentum going and turn the season around. Special thanks to Ardent and Kissel Krafts for the gear to land these fun ones! Next up lake Champlain for FLW BFL!

As my first tournament season as a boater is about to kick off i would like to state that i hereby pledge that no matter how my day is going i will not “back boat” ANY co-anglers. I may throw them out the boat if they are jerks (just kidding) but seriously will not do that. I have had too many friends waste their money riding with selfish boaters. While although money is on the line it’s important to remember where you came from and how it felt to be in that position.

Now that im back and settled in to our single digit weather i was able to draw a name for the first giveaway of tackle and that winner is Don Bell. Congratulations Sir! There was no winner in the reel giveaway because there had been no guess to match how awful i did haha. I appreciate everyones support and thank you. Next stop will be Upper Chesapeake Bay for first FLW BFL series as a boater and we have lots of work to be done on the Nitro Z7 before she is ready to see her first event:)

Well Florida and the Harris Chain got the best of me this time. The cold front and bad weather really through things off for me and just couldn’t seem to adjust. I finished 200th place 3lbs 5oz which although I’m not happy about i was blessed to have had a partner from the FLW Tour. These guys can pinpoint fish on exact spots in a hurry and it was an eye opening learning experience. I had given it my all and my split fingers are evidence of that. Hopefully i can apply what i have learned as a boater this year for the FLW BFL series.
