After a prolonged hiatus, cricket aficionados, welcome back to the thrilling action of the Birmingham Cricket Club!

At the half way stage of the BCL T25 2024, BCC is leading the points table after our win today against the University of Alabama Cricket Club (UACC), based at Tuscaloosa AL.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, UACC posted 188 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 25 overs. Anirban Swakshar scored a brilliant unbeaten century (117*) off just 89 balls.

In reply, our new dashing opener Salman Khan scored 77 runs of just 54 balls, Gohar Butt scored yet another fifty in the league (57 off 45 balls) and helped the team to score 191 runs off 22.4 overs.

As a result, BCC chased the target and won the game by 7 wickets.

That being said, BCC next game is scheduled against Birmingham Titans on next Saturday morning at 9:30 am @ East Lake Park

To summarize all the action over the last weekend, BCC has won the 2022 T25 Championship 😃

After winning the toss, BCC chose to bat and scored 157 runs. Nrupal Patel starred with the bat and scored 42 runs (1x4’s and 4x6’s).

Defending 157 runs, BCC bowled aggressively and restricted UAB Cricket team to 80 runs and won the final game by 77 runs. Man of the match Rondell and our star spinner Kurra Nageswara Roa picked up 3 wickets each.

Special mention to Man of the Series Imran Sultan who scored 631 runs in 10 innings and also picked up 7 wickets. He also took 6 catches this season.

BCC won the semifinal game against Birmingham Bandits last weekend.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, BCC scored a mammoth 215 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in the allotted 25 overs. Our star batsmen and leading run scorer in the T25 league Imran Sultan who is in the form of his life scored yet another half century (58 runs). Another aggressive allrounder Gohar Butt scored 60 runs of just 41 balls (5x4’s and 4x6’s). Our middle order batsmen Rondell, Atul and Nrupal also contributed quick fire 20’s to help the team post a big score.

Defending 216 runs, BCC picked up wickets at regular intervals and eventually restricted Birmingham Bandits to 148 for the loss of 8 wickets in 22 overs. Our lead spinner Nageswarroa Kurra picked up 3 wickets and others picked up 1 wicket each.

That being said, we will be playing 2022 T25 finals aginst UAB cricket team this Saturday morning at 11:30 am @ East Lake Ground.

BCC will be playing the first semi final game of 2022 BCL T25 against Birmingham Bandits this Saturday morning at 9:30 am CST @ East Lake Park

As we are entering into the last stage of T25 games, the games in the next two weeks will be very interesting. As of today, UAB is leading the chart, while BCC, Bandits, Warriors and Thunders are fighting for the play-off spots. Stay tuned as more action is coming in the coming weeks!

BCC has lost their 2nd game of 2022 BCL T25 league last weekend by just 1 run!

ACC chose to bat after winning the toss and scored 182 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Our Mr Dependable allrounder Vaidya Nathan picked up 4 wickets after giving away just 16runs in his 3 overs. Imran Sultan also grabbed 2 wickets bowling at an economy of 5 runs per over.

Chasing 183 runs, BCC lost couple of quick wickets inside 4 overs mark and then our hero’s of the game who bowled fantastically with the ball continued their prime form with the bat as well. Our most Reliable batsmen Imran Sultan scored an unbeaten 92 runs off just 75 balls (9x4’s) and our dependable allrounder Vaidya Nathan scored 56 off 56 balls (5x4’s).

In the end it was down to scoring 9 runs in the final over to win the game and came down to 2 runs off the last ball and unfortunately our batsmen was run out while taking a quick single!

Special mention to Feroze Ganaie from ACC who scored 86 runs with the bat and delivered the final over to defend 9 runs under tremendous pressure.

BCC will bounce back strong in the coming games.
