🏈⭐️🚨 BEST OF THE BEST β€” 1987 Reeltown High School Football team🚨⭐️🏈

As suggested by Torran Smith, the Reeltown High School Rebels have had a ton of great teams over the years but the 1987 squad was the definition of dominating. In a 15-0 year in which they defeated Winston County High School in the state championship, Reeltown posted a staggering nine shutouts. They beat their opponents by an unbelievable combined score of 447-43!

Their closest game that year was in fact the state championship against Winston County, which the Rebels won, 9-7.

Scott Meadows and Anthony McKenzie were both named to the Alabama Sports Writers Association All-State First Team. Gerald Potts earned a nod as an honorable mention.

Reeltown was coached by Duane Webster, who was named the Class 2A Coach of the Year. He was in his 26th year as the Rebels head man and it was ultimately the last of two stints at Reeltown. Webster racked up a 208-64-8 record with the Rebels and was named to the Alabama High School Athletic Association - AHSAA Hall of Fame in 1994. The Rebels' home stadium, Nix-Webster-O'Neal Stadium, is named partly in Coach Webster's honor.

Who do you think are some of the Best of the Best teams throughout Central Alabama's history?! πŸ€”πŸˆ
