In fall, I verbally committed to play indoor and beach volleyball at Truett McConnell University in Cleveland, GA. There are so many people that have encouraged and mentored me along the way, this achievement is for all of us. I’m excited to be signing my NLI on Jan 31st at 9:30am in the Coosa Valley Academy gym. Please come celebrate with me. There will be light refreshments after for teammates, coaches/faculty and family. 💙💛🐻

Junior OH/OPP #1 Corlee Johnson; Freshman DS #4 Kaylie Crane; Sophomore MB/OH #8 Kayleigh Harkins; Freshman OPP/MB/OH #14 Khloe Epperson; Sophomore OPP #17 Chloe Mims; Freshman S/DS #21 Katie Alverson

Staff and Support – Coach Sydni Brown (we would need a million posts to list all the incredible things she has done/does but she is 100% the coolest/toughest working mom we know!), Husband Dylan Brown, Children Kaden, Tucker and Eli (for sharing C-Sydni with us more than we will ever deserve and for a future men’s volleyball team at CVA 😉). Coach Gracie Bolden (sister of Sydni, most energetic, top tier chants, encouragement through coaching, photography, media and stats) and Coach Emily Bolden (mother of Sydni and Gracie and Mimi to the boys, voice of reason, heart of the team, best babysitter/toddler wrangler).

Coosa Valley Academy school, players, fans and parents receive endless hours of support (skill, direction, communication, teaching, travel, drama management etc…) from this staff and family. There is no way that a program can be sustained without their dedication to early intervention with the Junior Varsity skill development and relentless work ethic & sacrifice as a family. CVA was founded and built on families just like yours, as you all are perfect representation of what CVA should always strive for, when bringing new families on board. We can never thank you enough for the torch you continue to carry here at CVA and the examples that you set for other programs and students.

Tribute to the Seniors: As the season comes to an end and HS volleyball closes for our 4 Seniors (BS, Ry, K and Shelly), we applaud their accomplishments and how each one of them has given to the team selflessly. Their commitment has fueled our team’s fire, and we will carry the torch for you, as you have for the ones who came before. Thank you for everything and every moment. As you leave your red and grey behind, please remember the cheers and tears, the losses and triumphs. They have built you into who you are as people and those experiences will carry you through, as they were set in motion by the Grace of God! Cheers to all 4 of you and the adventures that await, we love you as big as the sky!
Toast to the Juniors: Get moving, your time is now! You are the lucky ones. Everyone says it will fly and rightly so, but the time you do have is precious, soak it in and make the most of it. You are about to receive one of the most treasured responsibilities. It is only up to you, how to manage. This team is a gift, and you have earned the right to lead it. Expect the best from your peers but always be fair. Lift the ones that struggle because you never know which ones or when they will shine, be a positive part of their story. Always teach, share your gift but never stop learning. Never think or act like you are above the girl standing right next to you, as you have already been or may be in her shoes when you least expect it. Be the player that everyone wants to please because you are so proud of every little step they take, cherish those moments. In this role you will have fresh eyes watching you, be kind (with your words and actions). Use each other’s strengths, don’t tear them down. Every teammate has a part to play, and that part can make or break the goals. Pray! Pray together, pray alone, pray often, pray when you lose and pray more when you win. Pray that God shows himself, through you, on and off the court. If you do these things, YOU will not just make the difference, you will BE the difference! XOXO CO’ 2025 …. passing the crowns to CO’2026.
