Here’s my last post on the Montgomery Motor Speedway street stock debacle. I was cleaning the shop and found a box with parts in it.
Picture #1 shows what I took out of the 26 car to keep from getting tossed because we figured there was no way any of it was legal. We were wrong, picture one is all legal and we wouldn’t be here, a nodular iron 9” case, a ford positrac center section that’s an OEM piece, strange twist axles, polished gears, the whole 9 yards.

Picture #2 shows what got me thrown out, a regular full spool, regular 9” chunk, allstar ring gear and had solid steel axles In the car.

Here is the math for anyone interested,
#1- $600 for the chunk and polished bearings , $649 center, $165 ring and pinion, plus 600 for axles, so you’re looking at about 2200 by the time you pay taxes and freight
#2- $360 for the case, $75 for the spool, $165 for the ring gear, and $220 for axles, so call it $950 with taxes and whatnot.

$2200 vs $950. One gets you tossed, one is completely legal by the rules. Make it make sense.

I’m fine with getting tossed, but who gets paid for second if 5 finished and only 4 get teched? I’ll argue that yes the mini spool/positrac is heavier than the steel spool, but the axles counter that.

I’ll take it on the chin, but all I ask is you treat me and my team fairly, you know it’s rare for me to carry on about this kinda stuff. Where are we saving money with these rules?
