That "easy" run didn't feel so easy today? Before you question your fitness, run through this checklist. π
Our very own Coach Alex Morrow was recently interviewed by Runner's World magazine for an article breaking down the 7 most common reasons an easy run can feel surprisingly hard; From pacing and recovery to hydration, sleep, stress, and even your environment.
Sometimes the issue isn't your legs, it's everything around the run!

π WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY RACE REPORT π
Resolute Runner Tim Roberts was ALSO out at Oak Mountain State Park this past weekend, tackling the Memorial Day Trail Race 12 Miler hosted by our friends at Southeastern Trail Runsπ
Tim is in full beast mode right now, coming off a strong half marathon performance and aggressively building toward two fall marathons. The man has a plan and he is executing it one hard effort at a time.
And make no mistake, the Memorial Day Trail Race is a HARD effort. In Tim's own words: "The biggest hill climb in that race is NO JOKE!" We believe him. Oak Mountain does not mess around and that climb has humbled many a runner. π
ποΈ
But Tim took care of business, ran incredibly well, and crossed the finish line in 2:29. Another brick in the wall. Another confidence builder. Another step toward a massive fall season.
π₯POW!π₯
And then? Tim immediately packed up and headed straight to the lake for the rest of the holiday weekend to recover. ποΈ
Honestly? We are SO jealous! But also, that is exactly how a Memorial Day race recovery should go. Run hard. Earn the relaxation. Live your best life. π
Congratulations, Tim! The hills tested you and you answered!

π WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY RACE REPORT π
Resolute Runner A***n Jack spent his Memorial Day weekend the right way, putting in WORK at the Memorial Day Trail Race 12 Miler at Oak Mountain State Park hosted by our friends at Southeastern Trail Runs! π
If you know the Memorial Day Trail Race, you know what it means. It's the first race in the series where you look around and think, "Okay, it's about to get REAL." Big climbs. Technical sections. Heat that has no mercy. This is not a race that lets you off easy. π‘οΈποΈ
A***n didn't care. He showed up, he put his head down, and he ran like an absolute BOSS! 1:56:33. 7th overall. That's not just finishing. That's competing!
π₯BOOM!π₯
But here's the bigger picture. A***n has monster ultras lined up this fall and then a jaw dropping 200 miler next spring. That's right. 200 miles! Every hard mile at Oak Mountain is just another brick in the foundation of something truly extraordinary that is being built right now.
The grind is the goal. And A***n is grinding beautifully. π
Congratulations, A***n! The trail giveth and the trail taketh away, but this weekend it gave! π²

π WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY RACE REPORT π
Resolute Runner Fletcher Roberts kicked off the past holiday weekend in style, tackling the CDA Marathon in stunning Coeur d'Alene, Idaho!
Fletcher came in with a clear mission: run strong, soak in the beauty of one of the most gorgeous race settings in the country, and have fun. Along the lake, along the river, surrounded by jaw dropping Pacific Northwest scenery. Goals? All accomplished. β
The race threw a curveball when the official pacer was taken down by the heat and had to drop. Fletcher? Didn't flinch. Stayed locked in, stayed strong, and crossed that finish line in 3:54:57 like a absolute badass.
π₯BAM!π₯
This is exactly the kind of mental toughness and resilience we love to see from our Resolute Runners. When the plan changes, you adapt. You push. You finish.
And the best part? Fletcher is absolutely rolling right now and has another marathon on the calendar this fall. We can't wait to see what comes next! π
Congratulations, Fletcher! You made that beautiful course look good! ποΈ

TERRIFIC TUESDAY RACE REPORTποΈ
Resolute Runner Alex Hoar absolutely crushed the Superior Spring Trail 50k in Lutsen, Minnesota this past weekend and we couldn't wait another day to share it!
Alex took on one of the most stunning trail courses around: 99% single track with 8,400 ft of net elevation change through the breathtaking scenery of Minnesota's North Shore. No roads. No shortcuts. Just pure trail grit. πͺ
And the result? A nearly one hour 50k PR. π
π₯SHAZAM!π₯
This didn't happen by accident. Alex juggles a demanding career with lots of travel AND a busy family life and still shows up for his workouts, trusts his coach's plan, and executes. His standout 50 miler in Crested Butte, CO last fall was already proof that something special was building. Saturday was the payoff.
This is what the Resolute Runner community is all about. Hard work, consistency, and big results. π
Congratulations, Alex! The mountains called and you answered in a BIG way!

In the words of teammate Jeff Perry, βDude, that was deceptively hard!β π
The name of the game was 400m repeats with diminishing recoveries. π
