Engine # (1)
Ls 5.3 engine rules
- The 5.3 engine comes from factory at 325 cubic inch.
- We are allowing .60 over bore. Maximum cubic inch is 335
- Block: Cast iron 5.3 onlyโฆ..
- Heads: Factory GM casting numbers 706 and 862.
- Valve sizes intake 2.000. Exaust valve 1.551 Maximum. Intake valve part numbers V3452 or V3466. Exaust valve part number V4371.
- No porting or polishing of any kind to ports or combustion chamber. 58 cc minimum .
- Rods: Must be factory stock rods only. Part numbers 143 or 3847.
- No lightning. You may balance new rod bolts, resize, and float the wrist pins. Stock length only.
- Any Hypereutectic piston - flat top or dish ( NO DOME).
- You may zero deck the block, no tolerance.
- Camshaft. : Any brand hydraulic roller camshaft with a maximum lift of .530 at the valve on the intake and exhaust.
- Rocker arms - GM LS stock 1.7 ratio only
- Lifters - Stock type hydraulic roller lifters only.
- Crankshaft: Part number 216. This is a stock production crankshaft. No lightning or cutting. Balance ok.
- Intake: Part number 300-132 Holly Intake. No porting or polishing of any kind. MSD Ignition Box: Part number 6014 or aftermarket (China style) with same specs
- The motor mounts, coupler, headers can be purchased at Race city performance in Mooresville nc ..
- Also you can use stock 5.3 engines

Headers allowed. No tri-y type. $550.00 claim on headers.
Engine #(2)
1. 365 maximum cubic inch. Factory cast iron block.
2.Engine set back -6" MAX. measured #1 spark plug to top, center of ball joint.
Also Engine must be in center of car only 1 1/2 inches of tolerance from center of carb to outside edge of both fenders.
3. No titanium parts allowed inside or outside of engine.
4. Headers allowed. No tri-y type. $550.00 claim on headers.
5. Any intake. No porting or polishing. Deburring edge ok.
6. carburetor ( Holley 0-82651SA 650 CFM)
Holley brand only (no aftermarket) 650 HP out of box . $750 dollar claim rule on carburetors.
Association will swap carbs with winner everyweekโฆ.
7. ANY cast iron head with minimum (64 cc for aftermarket heads) (58cc for STOCK PRODUCTION which does include 604 GM head) Max. Valve size is . 2.02/1.6
8. Steel valve springs only. Roller rockers and stud girdles ok. Screw in studs and guide plates ok. No shaft rockers.
9. Flat tappet hyd or solid cams only .550 lift Max.
Any duration. No mushroom lifters. Stock size lifter bore .842 and stock size cam journal size 1.862

It can be purchased at Race city performance if need one ordered if you can not find one on your own.
10. Flat top piston only. Must have 3 ring grooves. Zero deck height + /- .003. Piston cannot protrude out of block.
11. Crank STOCK STROKE. 48 lbs minimum with timing gear. 3.48 stroke GM. Ford 302: 3.00 stroke 351w : 3.50 stroke 6.0 rod length max.
12. Steel oil pan only. Stock style oil pump. No dry sump.
Wet sump engines only. May run a remote oil filter.
13. STOCK (FACTORY) Steel blocks ONLY.
14. Ignition- NO traction devices. MSD 6AL allowed. HEI allowed.
No crank triggers or other ignition devices allowed.
LS engines will have specific ignition boxes.

Suspension
- Suspension Open rear suspension to leafs,swing arm,z-link,4bar etc Oil shocks no adjustments of any kindโฆ..one shock per wheel
- J-Bar only allowed only on the pinion plate .
- A straight bar is not permitted.
Springs
- Springs must be around shock
- Shocks must be afco 1375T fronts & lift arm, 1394T rears ,all as valves from FACTORY.
- Any steel body shock will be allowed also but must match valving as afco shocks listed above (No exceptions)
- Front springs must be 450lbs or greater anytime checked.
- Left & Right rear shocks / springs must be located in front of axle tube . (Mounted to bird cage NO CLAMP on 4-bar cars )
- Nothing over 12in in length and 2.5in in diameter ( Top to bottom )
-,Nothing under 10in in length except for the 5th and 6th coil .
- No progressive or barrel springs , the spring wires have to be the same distance apart .
- Nothing under 200lb rate from the engine plate back .(except leaf spring cars) no spring rate on coils for rear leaf cars .
- Nothing under 450lb spring rate in front .
- Series has the right to trade out shocks after any event .
Claim rule is $$300 per shock ..(shock and coil over kit) .
- No stack springs ,spring rubbers , or bump stops ,straight up regular springs only !!!!
- Take up springs ok.

Safety

- Drivers door bars must have protective plate.
- All cars must have protective bars in front of driver.
- Standard brake system (No light weight break components) Rotors,calipers etc.

- All cars must be equipped with master cut off switch that series officials can reach easily near drivers entrance.
- All cars must be equipped with fire suppression or exstinguisher.
Body
- All cars must have a minimum of 10 inches and a maximum of 16 inches of rake built into the body from front to back of the deck (measured at the rear deck bar). - The rake can start as soon as the fenders break over from nose , and must begin no further back than 3 inches behind the seat.

- Spoilers:. โข Rear: All cars must have both left and right side spoilers extending from minimum of 3 inches behind the seat (can not start in front of the back of the seat ) to the rear deck bar, with a minimum height of 10 inches and maximum of 14 inches. In height (Front to back)
-These updates are intended to ensure all SWLA cars maintain the traditional wedge late model appearance.

-Measurements from center of front hub to beginning of nose can not be more than 52inchs
- Measurement from center of rear hub to end of quarter panel can not be more than 54inchs

Chassis

Engine set back no more then 6 inchโs from #1 plug to top ball joint
Chassis must be 1 3/4 or bigger round or 2in or bigger square(๐๐๐๐) frame
100 inch minimum wheel base

Fuel is Gas only due to carburetors can not be altered beside changing jets.

Any driver in top 5 , on the lead lap can protest
Top end protest $300 with $100 to accept $100 goes to tech.
Bottom end $700 with $100 to accept $100 goes to tech.
Engines will be teched at engine shop if not done night of event at track will be series choice. (No exceptions)
Tire protest is $150 per tire with Blue Ridge Labs testing and their decision is Final .
Penalty for not selling claimed shocks,carbs,Headers 1st offense ~ (Dqโed from that nights events )
2nd offense ~ Dqโed from that nights events and 1 race suspension
3rd offense ~ Dqโed from that nights events and 5 race suspension
