🎉 FAMILY FEUD FUN AT THE JRC!

Survey says… a great night for a great cause! 🎤✨

The Bloomingdale Park District was proud to host the Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club’s Family Feud Game Night fundraiser last night at the Johnston Recreation Center!

The JRC was transformed for an evening filled with friendly competition, laughs, food, prizes and plenty of Family Feud fun—all while supporting the important work of the Rotary Club in our community.

Did you know you can host your event at the JRC, too?

From fundraisers and community events to meetings, celebrations, parties and more, the Johnston Recreation Center offers rental spaces that can be transformed to fit your event. Just look at what they did with our gym!

Due to the predicted rainstorm tomorrow, the Fishing Derby scheduled for Saturday, September 19 at Lakeview Park has been canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Mark Goode Honored for M.O.S.A.I.C. Initiative

The Bloomingdale Park District is proud to congratulate Mark Goode, director of internal services, on receiving recognition for his leadership in creating the District’s M.O.S.A.I.C. philosophy. Pictured with Mark at the awards program are from left to right: Tania Rodriguez, Nicole Ginger, Trish McClimans, Mark Goode, Chris Tompkins and Derek Dvorak.

The Park District nominated Mark for the IPPYS award for his creativity, leadership and commitment to building connections throughout our community. Mark and several BPD staff members attended an Illinois Parks and Recreation Association reception to accept the award.

M.O.S.A.I.C. stands for Making Opportunities for Shared Awareness, Integration and Connection and reflects the District’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for staff and patrons. Much like a mosaic brings together individual pieces of different shapes, sizes and colors to create one work of art, the philosophy recognizes that each person contributes something unique to our community.

Mark brought together a committee of staff members and encouraged the group to openly share ideas and perspectives while allowing the initiative to develop organically. Together, they created the M.O.S.A.I.C. name, vision and mission that have since become part of the Park District’s culture.

Today, M.O.S.A.I.C. is incorporated into District communications, programs, events and staff initiatives, helping encourage curiosity, engagement, collaboration and connection. What began as an idea has grown into a philosophy that celebrates the many individuals who make Bloomingdale a vibrant community.

Congratulations, Mark, on this well-deserved honor!

Fishing Derby
Free!
Saturday, September 19
8-10AM
Location: Lakeview Park, 240 Broker Road

Sharpen skills and discover hidden fishing talents at the Bloomingdale Park District’s annual Fishing Derby! Stocked each spring at the Bloomingdale-Roselle Rotary Club Fish Release, Lakeview Park is full to the brim with an abundance of fish species. Prizes are awarded for all types of catches including biggest, smallest, weirdest, and more. Participants must bring their own fishing gear.

Bait is provided or you may bring your own. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. This is a catch-and-release event. Volunteers will be at this event to help measure and weigh fish. Washrooms are not available
