Saturday ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway recap!

Parker (500 Winged Outlaw)
Heat 1: 2nd➡️4th
Heat 2: 2nd➡️4th
Feature: 8th➡️DNF

Parker drove really hard and really smart all night adjusting to the track conditions. Still playing with gearing and other things to get faster! He was rolling well in the feature but unfortunately got caught up with another car that spun out in front of him, and he didn’t have time to react….this caused a huge puncture to his RR tire and ended his night.

Bowen (250 Winged Outlaw)
Heat 1: 1st➡️4th…kind of a rough start as he was in the wrong gear and didn’t realize it.
Heat 2: 4th➡️4th
Feature: 8th➡️8th

Got better with his line each lap on the track! He got faster and more aggressive. He actually had a good race going with the two cars in front of him but just not enough to get around them. Working on gearing for him too! Learning more every week and improving his skill.

Marshall (RBox)
Heat 1: 1st➡️4th
Heat 2: 4th➡️4th
Feature: 4th➡️ DNF (2 spin rule)

Marshall is improving every week. The track really slicked off for the feature and he was going full throttle, just like Mom and Dad asked, and ended up spinning out twice which forced his night to be done. Overall he is improving on his starts and hitting his marks. After the races were over we were able to get him some practice in the slick and talk about throttle control through the corners. He did a really great job and we were thankful he could get laps after not being able to finish the feature! Seat time is the best way to improve!

Thursday at Viola for AJC Illinois Speedweek, and Saturday for points racing. Wish we could do more but work and football schedules make it hard!

Spun out in lap 2 or 3 and went to the back. Raced back to 4th

6th➡️4th

Heat 1:
2nd➡️5th
Track was super slick where Bo was running and he ended up spinning twice. Viola has a 2 spin rule.

Heat 2:
3rd➡️5th
Learned a lot in this race!!

Overall he is getting faster and better on the starts! Making progress every week!

Lots of learning and we were super thankful to not have any mechanical issues for this night, so the boys can solely focus on driving and learning! The track was good, but different than it has been in past weeks. They adapted well, and racing two days in a row there really helped also! Continuing to learn and build confidence!

As we prepare for day two of racing at ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway, here is a quick recap of night one!

Parker had a great night in 500s and is continuing to learn. It’s so fun to watch him! He’s been able to fine tune and try new set ups now that things have been running smoothly, which is exciting!
8 Karts signed in.
Heat 1: 4th➡️5th
Heat 2: 4th➡️4th
Feature: 4th➡️5th

Bowen unfortunately had some electrical issues. Cruz Racing got him fixed up today and he is ready to rip! We are excited to see what he can do. Thanks Dave!

Marshall had 6 karts signed in. He started 6th and finished 6th in his first heat. He is continuing to gain confidence while out with other cars. It has been a challenge but he is getting a little better each time. For his 2nd heat he started on the pole. I think he got a little spooked because he drove up the track on the start, then tried to turn back down to get out the way but cars were there too…(his words). He got a little tangled up with a couple of cars and ended his night with a flat RR tire. Dad is getting him fixed up and ready to go today! More lessons learned each race!

On to tonight! 🏁🏁🏁

It was an up and down night at Exit 7 Motorsports Park last weekend. Parker and Marshall went to race, while Bowen was at his hockey tournament. There was a chance of rain so they ran a one heat and feature format.

Parker started 1st in his heat and finished third. He started 3rd in his feature and finished 2nd! He did really great on the dry slick conditions, and learned so much! Great run for him!

Marshall was trying to get used to the dry slick and spun out several times between hot laps and the heat. Unfortunately at the end of the heat he got up in the dust, caught his right rear on the wall coming out of turn 4 and it took him for a little ride 🔄. Praise the Lord his roll cage and safety gear did its job and he was ok! He bent the rear axle pretty good. Parker and Dad have been working hard all week to get his car fixed up for Viola this weekend. He was a little shaken up but ready to get back at it this weekend!

All 3 boys will be at ViolaBoyz Backroad Speedway for the Memorial Day race Saturday and Sunday!
