How is your new year going so far?
What are your successes?
Yep I said successes. Too often we focus on the failures and shortcomings and this doesn't help motivate you to keep going.
We talk to ourselves more than any other person. Make those chats positive and encouraging!

Listening to a podcast today from Dr Peter Attia.
He was talking about how exercise lowers your chances of all cause mortalities by 15%!
He went on to say how there is nothing the medical field can do for you that even comes close to that.
In case you needed another reason to move your body, here ya go :)

I shared this on my personal page but am sharing here too.
I think everyone should listen to this podcast episode. It was posted Monday Aug 15th on the Keeping it Real Jillian Michaels podcast.
Great conversation with Dr Casey on all things glucose, mitochondria, end cell health. Don't worry it isn't too technical. Lots of great info to use in your daily life.

What part of health and nutrition do you find hard or difficult?
No judgement.
Wht do you need help or additional direction with?

Let's talk about progressive overload and adaptation.
Your muscle fibers will adapt to the work/stress you give them. You have to continually give them more work to adapt to.
Change: weight, reps, sets, tempo, time under tension, grip style, or stance and this will throw a little curve ball at your body.
Your body is forced to work harder, respond to the stress and repair itself.
This is why you can't keep doing the same thing for months at a time and never do more. The body adapts.
Throw some curve balls today 👊

Give yourself some grace!
I know this is hard, I'm struggling with it right now myself.
We just got back from a weekend away and it wasn't easy to stay on track nutritionally. I said no to desserts and limited the calorie intake a little but it was still way more than I'm used to.
But you know what? It's ok. Really.
No one is perfect. You can't be perfect. Life happens, And what kind of life is it if we can't enjoy time with friends or a weekend vacation? We are going to indulge, we are going to lose some sleep, we are going to drink too much, or have too much sugar - once in a while.
Just promise yourself you will re-commit to your goals and get back on track. It honestly is a good reset for your body and your mind.
So, give yourself some grace and then hop back on the wagon and keep crushing your goals.
Much love!

Let' talk little changes...
Don't have time to workout? Try doing 10 squats each time you use the restroom. Or 10 incline pushups against the counter.
Park a little further from the store/work. Take an extra lap around the grocery store.
Every little bit of movement helps :)

Today, make a former version of yourself proud of you.
