As you guys may have seen, I recently moved into college . Definitely an interesting transition that’ll take some time to get used to. I’m still looking for hours when I’m able to film without getting hounded by the workers.

Classes and fall rush start this Monday so while I’m adjusting, I’m going to try to get posts up every other day while I figure out time management!

‼️GOING TO FAILURE‼️⬇️

When you first start out lifting, pushing sets to failure isn’t really necessary because it’s a new stimulus so the bare minimum will already be enough to grow!

But once your body becomes used to it, pushing yourself to failure becomes increasingly necessary to see growth.

Rep ranges are just a target for during your sets. If a rep range says 8-10 that means you should be failing within that rep range so grab a weight that allows you to do that.

Always control the weight and make sure you have good form but don’t be afraid to push yourself and take some sets to failure.

For me, anytime I am about to hit a working set, it will be to failure 99.9% of the time😂

‼️TIPS ON HOW TO SUCCEED ON YOUR FITNESS JOURNEY‼️
🔱[SAVE|SHARE|COMMENT|LIKE]🔱

1️⃣ TAKE YOUR REST DAYS: We grow outside of the gym! Not utilizing your rest days is only going to hinder your progress. The “no days off” mindset is not what you need when you are trying to build your physique!⚡️

2️⃣ SLEEP: Getting enough sleep is crucial when trying to build your physique! The recommended is 6-8 hours but the average person isn’t trying to build muscle! I would try to get at LEAST 8 hours each night and have a sleep schedule!⚡️

3️⃣ DONT EXPECT LINEAR PROGRESSION: When you start lifting, you can expect to get better and better each time you step in the gym. But after you’ve been doing it for a while, linear progression stops and this is normal! Try to push yourself harder each time you step in the gym and the results will follow!⚡️

4️⃣ EAT ENOUGH PROTEIN: Protein is necessary for building muscle! Not eating enough protein is only slowing down your progress. Track your daily intake of protein and eat about 1g of protein per pound of body mass!⚡️

5️⃣ STOP EGO LIFTING: Leave your ego at the door when you step in the gym! There is no reason to throw around more weight than you can handle if you sacrifice form. Grab a weight where you can control the movement and FEEL the muscle working!⚡️

6️⃣ SLOW DOWN: You use the muscle both ways! Slow the eccentric/negative portion of the rep down and create more tension on the muscle. This will increase your time under tension and create more stress on the target muscle!⚡️
