Velo is out to find the future of gravel by field-testing six very different gravel bikes. Fargo 32 was the quickest up the climbing challenge and second-speediest on the descent, proving that 32” wheels just wanna go fast.

Reviewer Logan was convinced: “There’s terrain where it’s undeniably faster, it’s undeniably better.” Is this the future of gravel? Watch the field test here, and stay tuned for their full review of the Fargo 32": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ND9KhHOSm04

Which Salsa are you most stoked to ride during our demo at Sedona Mountain Bike Festival November 6–8?

➡️Spearfish is our progressive XC bike with 120mm front and rear Split Pivot suspension travel. It’s lively enough for lightning-fast laps but can also settle in for those long, stamina-testing events like the Arizona Trail Race.

➡️Blackthorn is our trail bike, available with 125/140mm or 145/160mm Split Pivot suspension travel (with the ability to switch between travel classes) and smart cargo for out-all-day rides.

A cult classic of the fat-tire bike world, the Beargrease has delivered proven performance for well over a decade. Our latest Beargrease features updated geometry akin to a modern trail MTB, with a long wheelbase and well-balanced weight distribution. Its massive 27.5 x 4.5" tires give you excellent traction, rollover, and float on soft surfaces. And Beargrease now comes in your choice of carbon or aluminum frame. Where in the world is Meaghan Hackinen? Taking on the inaugural Ta**us Mountain Race in Türkiye. At 907 miles and 114,334 feet of climbing on mostly unpaved roads, the route is a serious challenge, especially since riders couldn’t see it until 48 hours before the start.

Meaghan chose Cutthroat SUS for this adventure, the same bike she rode on the Tour Divide and Golden Gravel routes this year. “There are so many unknowns … I want to be prepared for everything,” she said. Walk through her bike build and more: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6VanfU7YXDw

Fun fact: Meaghan was the first woman to complete all three Mountain Races in a single season back in 2025.

Best of luck to Meaghan and all the Ta**us Mountain Race competitors!

Here’s my pitch for dotwatching Ta**us Mountain Race: we barely have a clue where we’re going, the weather is coming in, and the women’s race is absolutely stacked. 🔥 🔥 🔥

Follow and listen to the podcast for daily updates. Chris from and Colby from will be helping me with live storytelling from the field as well — big thanks to the two of them!
