“Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.”

What does fitness mean to you? Is your goal to run a marathon, join the military, or sn**ch a hundred kilo's? Maybe it's to have the ability to get on the floor and play with your kids. Whatever your goal may be, find a way to become more "fit" for that specific goal each and every day. Find a legitimate coach to help you assess where you are right now and then help you create a plan of action moving forward. If you’re just getting started, take it slow. Go for a walk, short hike, or just practice getting up off the ground. Figure out how you want your "fitness" to translate into the rest of your life and do something, anything to move in that direction.

Contrary to much of what we read, stress is incredibly useful. It’s an important evolutionary response to danger, an automatic tool that takes over in the event of an emergency. At the sight of something dangerous (or worrisome), our stress responses activate, helping us run faster, jump higher, see better, and think quicker. You could say, stress is the body’s best weapon; it’s what kept us alive for years, taking us from prey to predator. Our stress response is hardwired, and even though everyone wants to help you manage and reduce, we can’t get rid of it, no matter how hard we try — we need it.
But the question, then, is how we can use stress for good. If we can’t get rid of it, what should we do with it? We believe we should cultivate positively stressful situations that help us grow. Like the person who challenges themselves physically each day, stress helps us become stronger. When focused on a meaningful goal, stress can help us achieve our dreams.
If you want help setting a meaningful goal, or creating positively stressful situations, send us a message or leave a comment.

Looking beyond the football field one must realize that winning is a synonym for success. What is success? Unfortunately there isn’t an answer. It is completely up to each individual. No two people will have the same definition and that’s ok. Some people might want to be a better husband or wife. Some might want to be a better father or mother. Some might want to make more money. What must be realized though is that success and failure don’t happen by accident. They are a culmination of each individual’s daily habits. Habits that have been performed day after day, year after year. Basically the proof is in the pudding. Sure, you can get lucky and have “success” without positive habits. Just remember that even a blind squirrel finds a nut. That success won’t be sustained. Your daily habits are your golden ticket to have the sustained “success” you want in life. Without these essential habits, success itself cannot be a habit. The key takeaway - perform a self audit. Are the things you’re habitually doing guiding you towards your goals or away from them? If they are, great job. If they aren’t, how can you make some minor adjustments to put you back on track? DM us if you want help or have any questions about habit formation!

As my 9th-grade social studies teacher once said, there is no such thing as a free lunch. EVERYTHING comes at a cost. If you want to find success in any one area of life, it will be at the expense of another. Want to be lean and physically fit? That will cost you time, energy, and freedom to an extent. Want to be successful in your career? Be prepared to give up time with friends and family, and likely your health. One of the most important things you can do for yourself is determining not only what you want, but what you're willing to suffer for. What are you willing to give up to be successful?

“Don’t ask yourself what you want out of life. It’s easy to want success and fame and happiness and great s*x. Everybody wants those things. A much more interesting question to ask yourself is, “What kind of pain do I want?” What you are willing to struggle for is a greater determinant of how our lives turn out.”
