This is one of the hardest messages we’ve had to share.

After extensive discussion and reflection, we have formally requested separation from the JFLOCI league. As part of this decision, the Cougars organization will be dissolved.

This was not a decision made lightly. It came after careful consideration of what is truly best for our kids and families. The memories made on those fields, the friendships formed, and the lessons learned about teamwork, resilience, and character will always matter. Those things don’t disappear with a logo or a league name.

As part of this transition, we will be handing our field over to the Bloomington Irish so it can continue to be used by young athletes during the upcoming season.

Cougar Football has given our kids friendships, teamwork, pride, and memories that last forever. But without parent volunteers, the program can’t continue.

We don’t want to close the doors. We don’t want to sell the equipment.
But unless new parents step forward, that’s exactly what will happen.

Important News from the Cougar Board-Fall Season 2025

Dear Bloomington Normal Cougars Families and Supporters,
It is with deep regret that we announce the cancellation of the 2025 Fall season for the B-N Cougars.
This difficult decision was made due to low player registration numbers and the inability to fill several critical volunteer board positions necessary for a safe and successful season. As a volunteer-led organization, we rely heavily on the commitment and involvement of our families, and unfortunately, we were not able to meet the minimum requirements this year.
Looking Ahead
We understand this news is disappointing, and we share in your frustration. Please know that this decision was not made lightly. Our goal is to ensure the long-term sustainability and integrity of the Cougars organization, and we hope to return stronger in 2026.
