Hello friends,
I would like to share some Dance Center history. I started the studio as The Dixon Dance Studio in the fall of 1970. I had grown up dancing with the Dixon Studio and they offered to help students start their own studio. I had classes in the basement of the Graham Plaza Hotel. In 1980, the Dixon's retired and each studio was now on their own. I changed the name to The Dance Center. In the 56 years, I had the studio in six different locations. The longest was 29 years on Pete Ellis Dr. We all loved that studio location!!
I have taught hundreds of children to dance in that time. I have had many wonderful dance teachers work with me. I can truly say that I have loved every student, family and teacher that I have met through dance❤️
This is The Dance Center's last recital on June 2 at 7pm at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. I would love for you to join me to celebrate the dance moments we have had together!!

We've kicked things off by announcing some of our performers, the Dark Side Troupe, and we are excited to share the bigger picture. This event is a celebration of dance within Bloomington and the Windfall Community. We hope to bring people together for an afternoon of beautiful performances, food, and community.

The Dance Center's 55th Spring Recital is Tuesday, June 3rd at 7pm at Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Tickets are on sale at the box office now. General Admission.
The dancers have practiced and are ready to perform for you!!!
Registration for the 2024-25 season has started. Classes will begin the week of August 19th. Dance/tumbling combo for ages 4 to 7 years old. Available classes:
Tuesday at 4:30pm for 6 year olds
Thursday at 5:00pm for 7/8 year olds
Thursday at 6:30pm for 4/5 year olds
No beginner classes available for 8 year olds thru high school but experienced dancers are invited to audition for intermediate and advance tap or jazz.

Come to dance camp and everything Trolls! Dance camp has two dates, July 9/10 and July 16/17 from 2pm to 4pm. Two days of dance, tumbling, crafts and lots of fun for four to seven year olds. The cost is $70. Please register by July 1st. [email protected]

The Dance Center will present the 54th Annual Spring Recital on Tuesday, June 4th at 7pm. Dancers will perform tap and jazz pieces at The Buskirk-Chumley Theater. Tickets can be purchased through the BCT Box Office.
