Girls' bowling held their awards party yesterday afternoon at Twin City Lanes as the 2025-26 season came to an official close.
Head coach Tim Griffith awarded varsity letters to six girls, including Grace Johnson, Morgan Hart, Victoria Vargas Cornejo, Brooklyn Brawner, Ace Drought-Nix, and Kaithlyne Balbuena.
Both Johnson and Brawner were named Big 12 Conference scholar-athletes for having a 4.0 or better grade point average and were of sophomore, junior, or senior standing, and Johnson also received an IHSA scholar-athlete honor with a grade point of 4.5 or higher with a junior or senior standing.
In addition, Brawner was named Most Improved (left in photo with awards), Hart (middle) named Most Valuable, and Johnson (right) received the Raider Award.

The action has wrapped up at the Joliet West Sectional and Grace Johnson did not advance to state as she had a six-game score of 890, rolling an afternoon series of 454 (154-134-166). Congrats to our senior on making it this far, and good luck in your future!

In the first game of the afternoon session, Johnson rolls a 154 to compile a four-game total of 590, good for 68th.

The morning session at Joliet is complete as Grace Johnson has rolled a 436 series (131-144-161) and is 69th among all individuals competing at Town & Country Lanes.

Action is underway at the Town and Country Lanes in Joliet for the Joliet West Sectional. Grace Johnson is representing BHS and rolled a 132 in her first game. We’ll keep you posted throughout the day.

Results are in from the Potter Bowl as BHS finishes sixth in the team standings at 4011. Grace Johnson rolls a 190 in her last game and finishes with a 6-game total of 941, good for 5th among individuals not on qualifying teams, and advances to the Joliet West Sectional.

In game five, the Purple Strikers get a 175 from Brooklyn and 162 from Grace to roll 638. BHS has 3246 pins with one game remaining with 751 coming from Grace.

Our girls are ready to begin regional action at the Potter Bowl in Morton in just a few minutes.

t was Senior Day as we took on Olympia at Twin City Lanes. We may have lost 1320-1181 in a 3-on-3 varsity match, but celebrated Grace Johnson’s contributions to our program.
Morgan Hart had a 421 series and 190 game, Grace followed with a 417 series & Victoria Vargas Cornejo rolled a 347.
Ace Drought-Nix and Brooklyn Brawner also competed in a 2-on-2 JV meet as the Purple Strikers head to the Morton Regional tomorrow.
