Optimum Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest
Optimum has launched its 19th annual Hispanic Heritage Month Essay Contest, inviting middle and high school students in grades 6–12 within Optimum’s service area to submit an essay reflecting on an individual, work of art, historical contribution, community organization, or cultural value that has inspired them or influenced how they think about Hispanic culture.
Four Grand Prize winners will each receive a $3,000 scholarship, with additional prizes available for finalists. Optimum will also recognize educators who encourage student participation. The contest is open to students of all ethnic and cultural backgrounds, and entries are due by October 15, 2026.
We wanted to share this to help spread the word among schools, educators, students, and families in our local area. This is a great opportunity to recognize Hispanic Heritage Month while encouraging students to reflect on the people, traditions, history, and contributions that have shaped their communities.
