Book Swap is this Tuesday, just in time to pick up your next pool or beach read! Bring 1 (or more) books you want to swap to the Juice Bar at 7:15pm this Tuesday (5/12) and let's get to know each other, get new (to you) books, and introduce our summer picks.
I'll definitely be bringing which I obviously read in the pool to make sure it was fully summer ready! 🚀😍👨🚀
Snacks and juice available for purchase of course, but I just might whip up some snacks and mocktail samples.
As always will be teaching a heated vinyasa class right before, so if you want to sweat and flow first, sign up on mindbody for the 6pm vinyasa.

Let's plant an intention together (and an amaryllis like this picture!) I've got 3 opportunities in the next week to gather with me as we set our intentions for the new year, planting them inside up inside using a resting meditation known as yoga nitra, and planted outside with an amaryllis to take home.
Each event is booked directly with the studio (links in my bio) and reservations MUST be made in advance.

About the flowers, this year, I added in a bunch of the bulb type pictured above. They're called a "double nymph" and they should be beautifully blooming a few months from now, giving you a very lovely reminder of how things can grow and bloom in a new year!

In the shapes and movement part of Yoga, I'll refer to something as "heart opening," and it usually is some sort of backbend. In the world of books, if anything was to be called a "heart opener," it would be this one. As I read I laughed, I cried, and I was reminded of my humanity and how much of my life was a pure streak of chance based on where I was born. Empathy is understanding and love, and this book captures the power of opening a heart.

What am I reflecting? It's a regular question that bubbled up today at petsmart while looking at the fish. The angle I was at to the upper tanks made the reflection seem brighter than the original, a moment where the light and angle amplified the reflection. It felt like life - we take in so many things, and we are each put here in the wild world deciding what to amplify with our own light. If we don't ponder and hold intention, we can find out ourselves reflecting and amplifying some stuff that isn't in alignment with who we are (or what to be). As we come towards the end of December.I will be hosting 4 (!!!) intentions setting events in four parts of town. I'd love to see you. Registration is with each studio, details and booking links in stories sometime today.

Our grief retreats are a place of grace and love, of sacred stories and tears and laughter and sorrow and above all hope. There's nothing like these journeys and I'm so grateful to for opening the door to this work, and for all we get to do together.
Our next grief retreat is this November in North Carolina. DM for details if you or someone you know needs this kind of support and love.
