Now that NE-ON has closed, I wanted to take a moment to share some thoughts with all of you.
This piece is deeply personal to me. As a child, I battled leukemia, and years later I walked alongside my mother through her breast cancer journey. I’ve experienced cancer from both sides as a patient and as a caretaker and those experiences shaped every part of this work. What began as a different story gradually transformed into Ella’s cancer journey. To me, that evolution is powerful evidence of how God can use art to heal, reveal, and redeem.
I intentionally kept my director’s notes brief in the program because I wanted the ending to land as a surprise. For the same reason, I didn’t reveal the full story to the dancers until it was time to set Eurydice months later. I wanted every audience member and every performer to walk beside Ella without knowing exactly where the path would lead. The subtle hints of her running, the music that reflected her shifting mental and physical states, and the constant ticking of the clocks- all of it was designed to make you feel the weight of time slipping away.
NE-ON became the glowing symbol of life force and healing. The poisonous fog (Amalga Trio) represented cancer itself. Synth embodied a powerful supporting spirit. Dopa and Soma stood as the doctors, while the Hazards served as nurses /warning signs along the way, the victory bell representing remission and the end of her treatment. Every element worked together to tell this story.
I dedicate NE-ON to everyone who has endured cancer, to every person who has sat beside a loved one fighting the disease, those who have lost one to cancer, and to all who have been touched by it in any way. This show was made for you.
“Promise me ,that you’ll live like it’s your last”
Warmly,
Rachel EuDaly

NE-ON is Now!
Today marks the opening of NE-ON! A powerful, deeply moving story that our students have poured their hearts and souls into. Every moment on that stage carries the passion, vulnerability, and courage of these incredible young performers.
This is more than a show. It’s a journey they’ve lived and breathed, and tonight they’re ready to share it with all of us.
If you have the chance, please come be part of this special evening. You truly don’t want to miss the talent, heart, and light these students are bringing to the stage.
A huge thank you to the incredibly talented for joining us at dress rehearsal and capturing these beautiful, fleeting moments through your lens. Your artistry is unmatched, and we’re so grateful for the way you see and honor our students’ work. We can’t wait to see more!

“Hi, I’m Lilly! I’ve been dancing with Kansas City Movement since I was 5, and it has been such a special part of my life. I’m so very grateful for the memories, friendships, and supportive dance family God has blessed me with. This fall, I’ll be attending Longview Community College while pursuing my passion for photography. Congratulations and best wishes, Lizzie!
“My love for dance started when I was two years old, dancing in the living room. I was directly admitted and accepted into Rockhurst’s nursing program as a freshman. I plan to become a nurse in pediatrics, the operating room, or the emergency department.
I would like to thank all of my teachers, especially Rachel Eudaly and Maddie Serig, for their love and support. They have cheered me on and helped shape me into the dancer I am today. For that, I could not be more grateful. They didn’t just help me become a better dancer—they also helped me become a better person.
The studio has been a second home, and I’ve loved every second of it. I have been truly honored and blessed to be given the role of Ella in NE-ON this year. I have never connected more with a character than I did with Ella.
From the bottom of my heart, I love this community so much!”
