For the last couple of years I’ve dedicated my heart to Savannah, Ga and the surrounding areas. I’ve learned and grown so much as a Doula - thank you to every family that selected me as their Doula. We are family forever. I am no longer in Savannah (but we do have a Doula still serving the area) I am officially taking clients in the Frederick, MD area where I will bring the same heart to the community here!

Remembering a bright light in the birth community 💔
Dr. Janell Green Smith (“Neli”) was a devoted certified nurse-midwife, researcher, and passionate advocate for Black maternal health. At just 31 years old, she tragically died from childbirth complications while welcoming her first child.
Her death during childbirth reflects the ongoing disparities Black families continue to face, realities she dedicated her life to changing.
We hold her family, loved ones, and colleagues in our hearts during this time of loss.

An epidural doesn’t mean you can’t move during birth!
During a medicated birth, changing positions is key. It helps your baby find the best path into your pelvis. During this birth, we used the hospital bed and a rebozo to support this mama into a kneeling position. It’s one of our favorites—it lets them rest while using the bed and rebozo for support.
Medicated birth or not, having a doula makes all the difference.
