Creekside Karate Club

Let's start off strong in 2022! Mid-America Kangeiko will be hosted by The Ohio State University Karate Club on January 15-16, 2022 in Columbus, Ohio!

Sensei Martin Vaughan, 7th dan will conduct the camp with the assistance of the other members of the Mid-America Technical Committee-Sensei James Oberschlake, 7th dan, Sensei Carol Glenn, 6th dan, Sensei Kim Weber, 6th dan, and Sensei Jeff Weber, 6th dan.

The weekend camp will offer 3 training clinics, a kyu exam, a dan pretest. There are also plans to include a competitor’s clinic, a judge’s clinic, and a shiai if time permits. All attendees should bring their kumite mitts, and a mouthpiece. Anyone interested in the judge’s clinic should bring a whistle and review the ISKF tournament booklet https://iskf.com/tournament-rules/

Sensei Tim forgot to announce last night in class: there is a class TOMORROW (Saturday, January 8th) at 11:00am. Please try to make it if you can, ESPECIALLY if you are testing at OSU Winter Camp next weekend!

NOTICE: The special 6:00pm adult class for tonight is cancelled due to Creekside Fitness doing sanitizing of the gym tonight. Sorry for the inconvenience! We'll see everyone on Tuesday, January 4th when we resume our normal class schedule.

Mid-America Fall Camp will be held on October 16-17 in Boardman, Ohio. Camp is being hosted by the Creekside Karate Club.

Camp will include 3 training classes, a kyu exam, a dan pretest, and a shodan exam. There will also be a group dinner Saturday evening.

Classes will be taught by Sensei Martin Vaughan, 7th dan. He will be assisted by Sensei James Oberschlake, 7th dan and other members of the Mid-America Technical Committee.

September regional training with the ISKF Mid-America. It was *amazing* training and great to see everyone! Thank you Sensei Martin Vaughan and Sensei James Oberschlake for an outstanding class, and our very own Rachael for the wonderful pictures!!

Reminder that the September Regional Training is this weekend at Ohio Valley Karate in Wyoming, OH. The training will be held at the Oak Avenue Gym, 800 Oak Avenue, Wyoming, OH on Saturday, September 11.

The subjects for this weekend will be the Heian kata series (1-5), Tekki Shodan, and combination techniques. Classes will be taught by Sensei Martin Vaughan, 7th dan.

There is a bonus training being hosted by Ohio Valley Karate on Sunday morning at the same location for those interested in attending.

The city is not requiring masks at this point, however please bring a mask with you just in case things change.
