Meet the DeJulios!
Hannah and Andrew DeJulio, along with their four children, are enjoying their second summer at the Davis Family YMCA.
Andrew first joined the Y after some encouragement from his mom, who is an active member herself. Since then, the entire family has embraced everything the Y has to offer.
Their four children stay active through a variety of Y programs and especially enjoy spending time in the pools. Their oldest daughter, Alessia, participates in the Homeschool Swim & Gym and Art programs, which Hannah and Andrew say provide a wonderful hybrid opportunity for homeschooling families.
The DeJulios are also grateful for the YMCA’s financial assistance program, which has made it possible for their family to enjoy everything the Y has to offer. They say the assistance has opened the door to opportunities that might not have otherwise been possible and has made the Y feel like a place where everyone is welcome, regardless of financial circumstances.
Andrew played basketball in high school, but it wasn’t a passion of his at the time. Today, basketball has taken on a new meaning. Through pickup games at the Y, he’s rediscovered his love for the sport and uses it as a way to connect with others and strengthen his sense of community. When he’s not on the court, you’ll likely find him lifting weights.
For Hannah, the Y has become much more than a place to work out. Since she isn’t originally from the area, the friendships she’s built at the Y have been especially meaningful. After the birth of their fourth child, she was invited to try a BodyPump class and has been inspired ever since. She credits the encouraging instructors and positivity for keeping her motivated on her fitness journey.
The DeJulios are passionate about serving their community. Hannah and Andrew recently launched House of Zeal Church, continuing their commitment to building meaningful relationships and making a positive impact inside and outside the YMCA.
We’re excited to follow along with the DeJulios as they continue their YMCA journey. Stay tuned for more of their experiences and milestones.
