Here’s how I like to warm up

1-2 balls each distance 40-100 yards (often times I really start at 30)

This does 2 things for me

1. It not only gets me warmed up and loosened up first before I swing full

2. It also guarantees that I get in wedge distance control practice every single time

Why not kill two birds with one stone?

I like to do this with one club (56* SW) and one swing tempo and just increase swing length.

Once I get to 100 with SW then I’m really to start some full swing practice

I like players I work with to have some form of “wedge system” in place from about 30-130 yards (depending how far they hit their clubs)

This is a big scoring zone and opportunity to tighten our dispersion and improve proximity to the hole.

Whether it’s short par 4s or 3rd shots on par 5s these are our opportunities to get more aggressive IF we build in a nice wedge system and skills

Don’t go right to full swing full speed.

Warm up AND build your wedge skills all at once

If your range doesn’t have yardages hit the first ball to 30 yards and just try to leap frog each one 10 yards past the previous one all the way to 100 yard sign

There are lots of ways to hit your driver farther and certainly working to get your club head speed up is a worthwhile pursuit for most…

But many people I work with are looking for more distance with a bit less effort.

Like how can you hit the ball farther without feeling like you have to swing any harder?

Here are 3 keys to help max out that distance without more effort

1. Tilt at setup

This comes from your right shoulder getting closer to your right hip. Put your hands on your quads at setup…ride the trail hand down just above top of knee cap…that’s about the right amount.

2. Press into trail foot and feel like you’re tossing the club away from the target to start the swing.

This helps shift your pressure early and get good width. The key here is the trail arm stays pretty wide and there isn’t a ton of early hinge.

This all helps create a reaction in transition and downswing that will give you more speed “for free”

3. Head back through impact

This will help with your angle of attack….hitting more level or up on the ball will help max out your distance relative to your speed.

Lots of the best drivers of the ball will have the head actually working back away from the target a few inches through impact. It can release up and forward into the follow through but from about left arm parallel in the downswing until arms parallel in the follow through (1/2 way down to 1/2 way through) your head should stay where it is or even work back a little.

So the mantra here is

1. Tilt
2. Press and toss
3. Head back

If you have any other glaring swing issues causing big contact or direction control issues of course you have to fix those as well but these pieces will help with more distance without more effort or force pretty much regardless of where you’re at.

Hope this helps👊🏽
